The 6-foot-8 Adams, who hails from the West Coast, boosted his stock this spring and summer on the AAU circuit. That has helped fuel a surge in his offer sheet and his 2026 national rankings.

Fast-Rising 4-star Maximo Adams Locks in Blue-Blood Visits

Per On3/Rivals national reporter Joe Tipton, Adams will take official visits to Kentucky, Michigan State, Kansas and Texas in September. From October 31 to November 1, he will travel to North Carolina. On November 8 and November 9, Adams will officially visit fellow Atlantic Coast Conference heavyweight Duke. In late June of this year, Adams took an official visit to Southern California out of the Big Ten Conference.

Adams’ recruitment has blown up to the point where he now holds more than 30 scholarship offers from a range of high-major programs. Besides the schools that he is visiting, Adams’ offer list includes Alabama, Arizona State, BYU, Houston, Illinois, Maryland, Oregon, Purdue and Syracuse, among many others.

Currently, the USC Trojans are slightly out in front for Adams in his recruitment, according to the Rivals Recruiting Prediction Machine. That will likely change, though, as he takes other official visits in the upcoming months.

Surge in the 2026 Rankings

Not too long ago, Rivals updated its national rankings for the rising high school senior cycle. Rivals placed Adams at No. 29 overall, No. 10 at small forward and No. 8 in talent-rich California. He’s inside the top 50 nationally according to the industry-generated Rivals Industry Ranking, ESPN and 247Sports. As those recruiting services updated their 2026 ratings, Adams should move into the top 30, if not higher than that.

According to numerous national analysts, with a strong senior season during the upcoming 2025-26 campaign, Adams could contend for five-star status. He’s also a potential candidate to receive invites to All-America showcases that will take place in the spring of next year.

Stock-rising Spring and Summer

During the latest AAU season, Adams played at an ultra-high level for the 17U team of the Las Vegas-based Vegas Elite in Nike’s EYBL league. In the EYBL regular season, he put forth many huge performances. Adams had games where he scored 31 points, 38 points, 26 points, 34 points and 25 points, for example.

Last month, at the EYBL’s season-ending Peach Jam tournament in North Augusta, S.C., Adams was once again fantastic. He averaged 18.8 points, 10.2 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.0 steals per game. The scouting experts at The Circuit named Adams to their All-Peach Jam second team.

Adam Finkelstein, the director of scouting at 247Sports, has said that Adams is one of the “biggest breakout players” of the most recent EYBL campaign. Finkelstein notes that Adams can guard several different positions and is proficient in scoring at all three levels. Where Adams truly shines is shooting jumpers in the mid-range, the scout says.

Adams is a standout at the Sierra Canyon School in Chatsworth, Calif., near Los Angeles, which is one of the better programs in California. As a junior in 2024-25, Adams helped lead Sierra Canyon to a 27-7 record and a No. 29 national ranking via MaxPreps. Last season, the Trailblazers won the California Division I championship, the squad’s first state title since 2019.

Looking ahead to 2025-26, some high school basketball experts deem Sierra Canyon as a preseason top-25 team. Adams will be a focal point of the Trailblazers’ roster.

© Benny Sieu-Imagn Images

Four-star small forward Maximo Adams, one of the fastest-rising prospects in the 2026 class, has locked in visits to multiple blue-blood programs, according to media reports.
