We cannot deny the fact that they have been busy this offseason, but was it enough to keep the Greek Freak happy? He said,

“It’s where we’ve been for ten years. Giannis loves Milwaukee. Milwaukee loves Giannis. We’re at a good place. We feel great about it. It’s business as usual. We get a fun little joy in everybody else thinking they know what’s going on and what the clickbait is, but for us, we’re in a good spot. Giannis is in a good place, he’s enjoying his summer. We’re looking forward to next season.”

The Bucks lost that Summer League game. But for the Bucks, the most important part right now is Giannis staying in their city. While many believed they might sell the Greek Freak and rebuild, they look to be taking a different route.

Giannis Enjoys His Summer, But Still Makes Headlines

Recently, Antetokounmpo was on a stream with the popular influencer, IShowSpeed. The two were enjoying Greece, and right from the get-go, the popular streamer popped the question. While discussing the tax rules in different cities in the US (between 46 and 47 minutes into the video), he asked, “So, you’re staying in Milwaukee?” To which, Giannis replied,

“Probably. Probably. We’ll see. Probably, I love Milwaukee.”

<iframe loading="lazy" title="irl stream in Greece 🇬🇷 ft. He has been with the franchise for his entire career. During his time in Milwaukee, he won the regular season MVP award twice and the Finals MVP in 2021. He led the city to its first championship since when Kareem Abdul-Jabbar played in Milwaukee.

Milwaukee Bucks Offseason Grade

The Milwaukee Bucks made a drastic change this offseason by waiving and stretching Lillard. They used the money they saved from the deal to sign Myles Turner. Needing more point guard depth on their roster, they have added Cole Anthony. He was traded to the Memphis Grizzlies earlier in the offseason. Yet, he managed to secure a buyout and decided to sign with the Bucks once he clears waivers.

Anthony is a young point guard, who has his weaknesses, but can also play the position. In his first four seasons in the league, he averaged 10+ points. His second season was his best, when he averaged 16.3 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 5.7 assists. Size is his weakness. At only 6-2, he can be a bit undersized for a guard. But the good news is the Bucks have a big frontcourt that can minimize his weaknesses.

The jury is still out on the Bucks’ offseason. Next season, the Eastern Conference will be weaker due to injuries to Tyrese Haliburton and Jayson Tatum. With a top-three player on their roster, the Bucks have the opportunity to perhaps secure one of the first four seeds.

Photo credit: © Trevor Ruszkowski-Imagn Images

The Milwaukee Bucks were one of the teams under the most pressure this offseason.
