Ryan Rollins<\/a> recently became an unrestricted free agent, but it appears that he will find a home. According to Michael Scotto of HoopHype<\/a>, there are five teams interested in signing the 23-year-old point guard.<\/p>\n

5 Teams Reportedly Interested In Young Point Guard Coming Off Career Season<\/h2>\n

Rollins became an unrestricted free agent just a couple of days after the Milwaukee Bucks<\/a> officially made him a restricted free agent. The Bucks<\/a> rescinded their $2.1 million qualifying offer to Rollins to create enough cap room to sign Myles Turner<\/a>.\u00a0 The 2022 second-round pick had a career year in 2024-25, which saw his two-way deal converted to a standard one early in March.<\/p>\n

Rollins averaged 6.2 points, 1.9 assists, and 1.9 rebounds in 56 appearances for the Bucks, the most action of his three-year career. The 6-4 guard increased his production to 10.2 points a game while shooting 48.6% from the field and 45.2% from beyond the three-point line in his 19 starts. He scored in double-figures 15 times, topping the 20-point plateau twice, and produced one double-double.<\/p>\n

Despite allowing Rollins to become a free agent, Scotto said that the Bucks are interested in keeping him. Scotto mentioned the Los Angeles Lakers<\/a>, Phoenix Suns<\/a>, San Antonio Spurs<\/a>, and Portland Trail Blazer<\/a>s as teams also showing interest.<\/p>\n

Milwaukee Bucks<\/h4>\n

Milwaukee has 12 players on standard contracts with some flexibility. The Bucks are also $20 million under the luxury tax. The Bucks re-signed Kevin Porter Jr.<\/a> and traded<\/a> for Vasilije Micic<\/a>. They also have Gary Trent Jr<\/a>. and Andre Jackson Jr<\/a>. on the roster, along with point guards Jamaree Bouyea<\/a> and Mark Sears<\/a> on two-way deals.<\/p>\n

While the Bucks’ biggest need is probably another frontcourt player, it wouldn’t hurt them to keep Rollins. He is a better option than Andre Jackson Jr<\/a>., despite the latter’s versatility. Jackson has a non-guarantee saying the Bucks won’t keep Jackson.<\/p>\n

The Bucks, hard-capped at the first apron, own Rollins’ early Bird rights. If Rollins returns to Milwaukee, he figures to compete with Porter and Micic for the Bucks’ starting point guard job.<\/p>\n

Los Angeles Lakers<\/h4>\n

It would seem that the Lakers would have to make a few roster moves if they are serious about signing Rollins. The Lakers have 14 players on standard deals and are over $300,000 above the first apron, where they are subject to the hard cap.<\/p>\n

The Lakers do have some flexibility with Shake Milton<\/a> ($3 million) and Jordan Goodwin<\/a>, who hold non-guaranteed deals. So, LA could cut bait with both, though that doesn’t make sense as they may not be able to afford Rollins and would still need to add a player. Plus, Goodwin is a better option.<\/p>\n

Phoenix Suns<\/h4>\n

Phoenix is well over the second apron with 12 players signed, and that is without the No.10 pick in this year’s draft, Khaman Malauch<\/a>. The Suns inked Collin Gillespie<\/a> to a standard deal. However, unless the Suns buy out Bradley Beal,<\/a> it doesn’t appear that the Suns will be able to afford Rollins. As it stands now, they can only sign players to a league minimum contract.<\/p>\n

San Antonio Spurs<\/h4>\n

San Antonio has at least one open roster spot and is $25 million below the first apron, where the Spurs are hard-capped. Adding another guard is not an absolute need; instead, they should prioritize adding more depth up front — particularly a center.<\/p>\n

Portland Trail Blazers<\/h4>\n

Portland appears to be Milwaukee’s primary competitor for Rollins’ services. The Trail Blazers have 13 players on standard contracts. However, two of the players hold non-guaranteed contracts. The Blazers are also over $23 million below the first apron, where they are hard-capped.<\/p>\n

Toumani Camara<\/a> and Duop Reath<\/a> are players who hold non-guaranteed contracts; both are expected to be on the Blazers’ roster. The Blazers may move\u00a0Jrue Holiday<\/a>, Robert Williams<\/a>, or Deni Avdija<\/a>. Regardless of whether the Blazers deal one of those players, they could use another guard.<\/p>\n
