Those discussions, however, have hit a snag with a remarkable request for the 30-year-old forward.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Lakers, Heat Trade Talks Stalled Over Unreasonable Asking Price<\/b><\/h2>\n<h3><b>Report: Heat Asking for Two LA Forwards and First-Round Pick<\/b><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">According to <\/span><a  href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/dru_star\/status\/1940767489153229109\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Lakers insider Jovan Buha<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, the Heat are attempting to get their money\u2019s worth for Wiggins, looking to pry <\/span><a  href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/h\/hachiru01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Rui Hachimura<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, <\/span><a  href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/k\/knechda01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dalton Knecht<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and a first-round pick from LA.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cI don&#8217;t know if Gabe Vincent, Maxi Kleber, Shake Milton &amp; a first gets you Andrew Wiggins. I&#8217;ve shared what I&#8217;ve heard which is that Miami has been asking for a first &amp; Dalton Knecht. I think they also want Rui Hachimura too because they want to remain competitive.\u201d<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">ClutchPoints\u2019 Anthony Irwin has also confirmed that trading the future first-rounder is <\/span><a  href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/AnthonyIrwinLA\/status\/1940777715084546344\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201ca no-go for the Lakers.\u201d<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">While the team was previously willing to deal Knecht and draft capital, the front office was reportedly <\/span><a  href=\"https:\/\/clutchpoints.com\/nba\/los-angeles-lakers\/sources-lakers-split-on-trading-core-players\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">split over trading Hachimura<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, among other key players. A reliable starting power forward, Hachimura is coming off a 13-point, five-rebound-per-game season for LA, and won many over with his effort during an otherwise lackluster playoff series. Starting all five first-round games against the Minnesota Timberwolves, Hachimura put up a career-high 14.8 points, along with 4.6 rebounds and one assist per game on .491\/.484\/1.000 splits.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Laker fans are far from amused when it comes to possibly trading Hachimura.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Rui Hachimura is just as good as Andrew Wiggins. Mandatory Credit: Dale Zanine-Imagn Images<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Wiggins was moved to Miami as part of a <\/span><a  href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/j\/jamesle01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">blockbuster package<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for <\/span><a  href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/b\/butleji01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Jimmy Butler<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, However, back then, Riley was right to ask for a large haul in exchange for a six-time All-Star, five-time All-NBA and five-time All-Defensive Team selection. Wiggins, though talented in his own right with a championship, All-Star appearance and Rookie of the Year award under his belt, should not warrant the same return as a player of Butler\u2019s magnitude\u2014especially since he\u2019s 30 and not getting any younger. Despite an 18 PPG season on .448\/.374\/.763 splits, Wiggins flamed out in the playoffs, posting 11.5 points on .372\/.350\/.700 shooting.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Similar to the <\/span><a  href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/k\/kesslwa01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Walker Kessler<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> dilemma with Utah, if Riley and the Heat don\u2019t get off their high horse, then Wiggins may not be the one for the Lakers after all. This team knows what happens when expensive trades for stars backfire. Rather than getting greedy around Doncic and James, the Lakers should make sensible deals for solid contributors, and that isn\u2019t the case with Miami right now.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u00a9 Gary A.
