In a post on X, he noted <\/span><a  href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/brettsiegelnba\/status\/1940207084580348378?s=46&amp;t=K2EEPguKvvUj2h4oW6grHw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the Lakers have \u201cheld talks\u201d<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> with Phoenix for <\/span><a  href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/r\/richani01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nick Richards<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, New Orleans for <a  href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/m\/missiyv01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Yves Missi<\/a> and Portland for <a  href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/w\/williro04.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Robert Williams III<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><b>Nick Richards<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/basketball\/2024\/10\/14\/lakers-rumors-team-pursued-young-eastern-conference-center-nick-richards\/\" target=\"_self\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Lakers\u2019 interest in Richards<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> dates back to last offseason, and it makes sense why they\u2019ve kept him in mind one year later. The 27-year-old, known for his rebounding and interior toughness, did well as Phoenix\u2019s starter following a January trade. In 36 games (34 starts), he averaged 9.3 points, 8.2 rebounds, 0.9 assists and 0.8 blocks. He also shot 59% from the field and 74% from the free-throw line.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Richards checks the boxes in terms of athleticism, youth and defense. The fact that he\u2019s making $5 million next season should make a potential trade easier than others.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><b>Yves Missi<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Unlike Richards and Williams III, Missi is a relatively new target. However, he\u2019s another decent option on a team-friendly deal. The 21st pick in last year\u2019s draft was a <\/span><a  href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/athletic\/6233900\/2025\/03\/28\/yves-missi-rookies-pelicans-nba\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">key constant amid a disastrous season<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> for the Pelicans. He can not only <\/span><a  href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/xballafrica\/status\/1852657379583660431\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">soar for highlight slams<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, but also exhibits solid post moves and chases second-chance opportunities (3.5 OREB\/game). The fact that he\u2019s done this at 21 years old (after <\/span><a  href=\"https:\/\/theleadsm.com\/yves-missi-making-massive-impact-for-pathetic-pelicans\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">starting to play basketball at 14<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">) is all the more impressive. While acquiring former Pelicans led to hits and misses for the Lakers, Missi could further his growth with the purple and gold.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><b>Robert Williams III<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Finally, Williams III, though a longtime Lakers trade target, still deserves some consideration. An athletic, defensive-minded and undersized big man, the \u201cTime Lord\u201d has shown flashes of potential in Portland. Despite playing only 20 games (3 starts) due to injury, he put up 5.8 points, 5.9 rebounds and 1.7 blocks on 64% shooting from the field and 88% from the line.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Earning $13.2 million on an expiring four-year contract, Williams would be a decent fit if not for lingering injuries and subpar production. He\u2019s shown plenty of heart over height at 6\u20199\u201d and 237 pounds, and has impressive athleticism like Missi and Richards.
