The best team defense in the modern era, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander cemented himself in history, finishing one of the best guard seasons of all time. Furthermore, what a season for the Indiana Pacers, who had an incredible run. Tyrese Haliburton tearing his Achilles in Game 7 is truly heartbreaking. It’s one of the most gut-wrenching moments in all of sports in recent memory. There were multiple great moments throughout these NBA finals. We got the first Game 7 since the legendary 2016 NBA Finals. And, although it wasn’t the greatest end to the story, it was still one of the most entertaining Finals and Playoffs in a long time. This article mentions the top three individual fantasy performances in the Finals. Let’s go ahead and get into it.

The Best Fantasy Performances from the 2025 NBA Finals

May 13, 2025; Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, USA; Oklahoma City Thunder forward Jalen Williams (8) and guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (2) celebrate after a scoring against the Denver Nuggets during the first quarter of game five of the second round for the 2025 NBA Playoffs at Paycom Center. Mandatory Credit: Alonzo Adams-Imagn Images

1) Shai Gilgeous-Alexander – Game 2

After a stunning collapse in Game 1 of the Finals, SGA and the Thunder bounced back in Game 2. The Thunder finished the postseason 7-0 following a loss. One of the defining features of this championship team was its ability to win convincingly after a loss. SGA had himself a great all-around game in this one. SGA finished Game 2 with 34 points, eight assists, and five rebounds. His defense was also great throughout this series, as he notched 4 steals in this game. This was one of the best SGA games we got in this series, and the fantasy box score shows it. He also had multiple other great fantasy games, but this one was his best. SGA finished the game with a whopping 60 fantasy points in Game 2.

2) Jalen Williams – Game 5

In Game 5, the Thunder took a 3-2 lead on the backs of their stars, SGA and Jalen Williams. J-Dub became the fifth youngest player ever to score 40 or more points in an NBA Finals game. SGA and Williams became the seventh duo in NBA history to score 40 and 30 points in the same finals game. What makes this crazier is that they are both going to get better as time goes on. But let’s focus on this performance from J-Dub. He finished this game with 40 points, six rebounds, and four assists. Not only did he score 40, but he was getting downhill and getting to the free-throw line at an unprecedented rate. He shot 9-12 from the free throw line and was unstoppable throughout this game. This performance was good for 54.2 fantasy points, and Williams proved he’s an All-Star for years to come.

3) Tyrese Haliburton – Game 3

I cannot put into words how devastating this torn achilles is for Haliburton and the Pacers. Not only did the Pacers miss out on a fair chance for a title, but Haliburton is most likely going to miss the entire 2025-26 NBA season as well. Nonetheless, Haliburton gave us so many unforgettable moments during this postseason, including one of the most iconic shots in recent memory in Game 1. Additionally, in a Game 3 win, Hali finished the game with 22 points, 11 assists, and nine rebounds. He was also shooting lights out from beyond the arc, making four three-pointers this game. It sucks that Haliburton was not able to finish this game, but we have to give him his respect for even trying to play on a strained calf. This run by the Pacers will not be forgotten. This performance was good for 51.3 fantasy points.

The Last Word

Overall, this NBA Finals was some of the most entertaining basketball in recent memory. We got some amazing games from the MVP, other stars, and role players throughout this series. So many memorable moments besides these three performances. T.J. McConnell all series long, two 20-point games, from Alex Caruso and Bennedict Mathurin. With that, the 2025 NBA season is officially over. The offseason will be in full effect, as the NBA Draft starts this Wednesday.

Featured image: © Alonzo Adams-Imagn Images

With the NBA Finals ending on Sunday, it wrapped up an incredible NBA season.
