With that in mind, the list of prospects who received invites to the NBA Combine just got longer. Bates, a 6-foot-5 guard, was among <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/basketball\/2025\/05\/08\/assessing-sacramento-kings-first-pre-draft-workout-group\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_self\">the six players who worked out<\/a> for the Sacramento Kings last Monday. In fact, the 6-foot-10 big man has his conference in blocks per game the past two seasons. This despite playing in two different conferences (MAC in 2023-24, Big Ten in 2024-25).<\/p>\n<p>Mgbako left Roselle Catholic High School as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/college-sports\/basketball\/recruiting\/player\/_\/id\/242806\/mackenzie-mgbako\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">a top-10 recruit<\/a> in the ESPN 100. He\u2019s underwhelmed since, largely due to inconsistent effort and offense. In the two games he played, he recorded 20.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per contest. The 6-foot-8 forward also shot 7-13 (53.8 percent) from 3.<\/p>\n<p>Last but certainly not least is Nembhard, the brother of Indiana Pacers guard <a href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/n\/nembhan01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Andrew Nembhard<\/a>. As it tends to happen, the younger Nembhard has similar traits as his brother, both being two-way playmakers.
