They trail their first-round playoff series to the Minnesota Timberwolves 3-1. After splitting the first two games in LA, the Timberwolves held onto home-court advantage with two gritty wins in Minnesota. Now the teams head back to LA where the Lakers will attempt to prolong their playoff lives. We are going to take a look at some of the matchups and statistics from the series so far to determine what the best Lakers vs Wolves player props are for Game 5.

Best Lakers Vs Wolves Player Props For Game 5

*All Lakers vs Wolves Game 5 player props are courtesy of Bovada as of Tuesday evening.

LeBron James: Over 6.5 Assists (-130)

This is simply too low a line for LeBron James. James averaged over eight assists during the regular season and averages over seven a game for his career. That doesn’t mean that he has hit those numbers regularly this series, however.

James has only eclipsed six assists in two of the four games this series. Over the last three games of the series, he is averaging 6.3 assists and has notched more than six assists in two of the last three games. With the Lakers headed home, we expect James to take control of the offense in this must-win game. That’s why James’ assist over total is one of the best Lakers vs Wolves player props for Game 5.

Donte DiVincenzo: Over 9.5 points (-121)

Donte DiVincenzo has been a key piece for the Timberwolves in this series. He’s played big minutes over the last two games, chipping in big on both ends of the floor. Although his five steals last game or three blocks in Game 3 may be what sticks out the most about his statistics, it’s his shot attempts that we have flagged as interesting.

In the first two games of the series, DiVincenzo only put up a combined 13 shot attempts. In the next two, he put up 24. It is worth noting that he hasn’t been all that efficient with those shots. DiVincenzo is 7-of-24 from the field over his last two games. Still, we believe that DiVincenzo will continue to see big minutes and take plenty of shots in Game 5. That’s why we like him to cross the double-digit scoring mark, which is something he has just done once in this series so far.

Luka Doncic: Under 8.5 rebounds (+102)

This may be the juiciest Lakers vs Wolves player prop for Game 5. Luka Doncic has only eclipsed this number once over the four-game series, and we don’t see him doing it again. Doncic only notched one measly rebound during Game 4 and seven in Game 3. This is somewhat unlike Doncic, who is usually a top-tier rebounder, but something that is worth looking into.

Getting positive money (+102) on Doncic’s under for rebounds has value. He hasn’t shown that he can consistently grab eight or more rebounds much recently. Over his last ten games, he is only averaging 6.8 rebounds a game, way below his season average of 8.3 per game. We think Luka’s lack of action on the glass will continue on Wednesday.

The Los Angeles Lakers are in a hole.
