The selection took place during an awards ceremony on Wednesday at Madison Square Garden. Brunson was also selected as the conference&#8217;s Scholar-Athlete of the Year.<\/p>\n<p>Brunson joins <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sports-reference.com\/cbb\/players\/kerry-kittles-1.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Kerry Kittles<\/a><\/strong>, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sports-reference.com\/cbb\/players\/randy-foye-1.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Randy Foye<\/a><\/strong>, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sports-reference.com\/cbb\/players\/ryan-arcidiacono-1.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Ryan Arcidiacono<\/a><\/strong> and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.sports-reference.com\/cbb\/players\/josh-hart-1.html?utm_campaign=Linker&amp;utm_source=direct&amp;utm_medium=linker-\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Josh Hart<\/a><\/strong> as the only Wildcats to win this award. Hart did it last year so Villanova will have the Player of the Year on their roster for two straight seasons.<\/p>\n<h1><strong>Jalen Brunson Wins Big East Player Of The Year<\/strong><\/h1>\n<h2><strong>Brunson&#8217;s season so far<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The junior is averaging 19 points and 4.8 assists for the Wildcats this season who sit at 27-4. Brunson received his honors on Wednesday before the tip of the Big East Tournament. Villanova will be the two seed looking to win the tournament for a second straight season.<\/p>\n<p>Brunson notched his season high in points on the road against Marquette and Temple when he dropped 31 points. He has 11 games of 20 or more points so far this season. The Wildcats will likely enter the\u00a0NCAA Tournament as a top two seed in their region thanks in large part to the play of Brunson.<\/p>\n<p>A three-year starter and winner of a national\u00a0championship as a freshman, Brunson has a lot of experience in the tournament.
