Some league leader races weren’t close, while others went down to the final day of the regular season.

2024-25 NBA League Leaders In Major Stat Categories

Scoring Title – Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Oklahoma City Thunder (32.7)

The favorite to win his first MVP, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander also won his first career scoring title. This was the third-straight season that he has scored more than 30 points per contest. The only other player this year to average more than 30 was Giannis Antetokounmpo of the Milwaukee Bucks (30.4). The 6-foot-6 guard scored at least 30 in 49 of his 76 games and had a career-high of 54 points on January 22 against the Utah Jazz.

Rebounding Title – Domantas Sabonis, Sacramento Kings (13.9)

For the third straight year, Domantas Sabonis sees his name atop the rebounding leaderboard. His 13.9 per contest are a career-high and also the fifth consecutive season he averaged at least 12. The nine-year veteran also led the league with an average of 10.1 defensive rebounds per outing. Karl-Anthony Towns of the New York Knicks finished second at 12.8.

Assists Title – Trae Young, Atlanta Hawks (11.6)

Trae Young is your league leader in assists for the first time in his career. His 11.6 assists per game are the most since Russell Westbrook averaged 11.7 in 2020-21 while with the Washington Wizards. It’s the third-straight year that he has averaged double figures in dimes per game. The only other player to have a double-digit average this year is Nikola Jokic of the Denver Nuggets (10.2).

Steals Title – Dyson Daniels, Atlanta Hawks (3.0)

The biggest runaway winner in any of these categorizes is Dyson Daniels with his three swipes per outing. Coming in second again is Jokic with 1.8. The 22-year-old Daniels became the first player to average at least three steals since Alvin Robertson in 1990-91 while he played for the Bucks. He is now 2-for-2 in leading the league in swats after averaging 3.6 in his unanimous Rookie of the Year season. Remarkably, even with his season ending prematurely, the 21-year-old Wembanyama’s 176 blocks were 28 more than anyone else this season (Brook Lopez of the Bucks with 148 finished second).

Three-Pointers Made – Anthony Edwards, Minnesota Timberwolves (320)

In what was easily the tightest race, Anthony Edwards beat out Malik Beasley (319) of the Detroit Pistons by one.
