Stephen Curry<\/a> continues to climb up the ranks. On Tuesday night, he had an unbelievable 52-point, 12 three-pointer outing<\/a> in the Warriors’ win against the Grizzlies. Not only did Curry explode scoring in the game, but he also added to his stat sheet with ten rebounds, eight assists, and five steals in the game. Hidden in Curry\u2019s incredible performance, however, was his passing \u201cThe Logo\u201d, Jerry West<\/a>, on the NBA\u2019s all-time scoring list. Curry now sits at 25th on the list, furthering conversations about him being one of the greatest players of all time.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Curry Passes Jerry West<\/strong><\/h3>\n

The Warriors needed a huge performance from Curry on Tuesday night, and he delivered. Curry had his second 50-point game of the season while landing 12 three-pointers, flirting with retaking his position as the holder of the single game three-point record. Unfortunately, he fell short of that feat, but got himself a different accolade in his performance.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Curry now has 25,205 career points and is 25th on the all-time NBA scoring list. Passing the legendary West is a huge feat. After all, West’s silhouette is literally the logo of the NBA. Curry now gets to sit in elite company as a top-25 all-time scorer. He also reached that position in far<\/span> fewer games than any others<\/span><\/a> on the list. The next five players on the All-Time NBA scoring list have taken at least 180 games more than Curry. That\u2019s at least two full seasons’ worth of basketball.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Other Records From Steph\u2019s 52-Point Game<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Getting into the top 25 on the all-time scoring list wasn\u2019t Curry\u2019s only accomplishment from Tuesday\u2019s game. Curry passed long-time rival LeBron James<\/a> for <\/span>career 50-point games<\/span><\/a>. He also passed Michael Jordan<\/a> for games where a player got 50+ PTS on 50% shooting from the field and 60% from three<\/a>. He also passed Wilt Chamberlain<\/a>, becoming the oldest player (by seven years!) with at least 50 points, 10 rebounds, and eight assists<\/a> in a single game. Curry is now doing things the greatest players ever have never done.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Curry is in the GOAT Conversation<\/strong><\/h3>\n

As Curry skies up the all-time NBA scoring list, it is hard to keep him out of the GOAT conversation. He is the greatest shooter ever in a sport where shooting is the most important skill. His style of play completely changed how basketball is played. Now, he is a top-25 all time scorer, he\u2019s <\/span>top-30 all time<\/span><\/a> in assists, <\/span>top-40 all-time<\/span><\/a> in steals, and has the most made threes in NBA history.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

It doesn\u2019t look like he\u2019s done, either. Expect Curry to continuously racking up counting stats over the next few seasons. He\u2019s probably already a top-10 player of all time. That being said, if he wants to be considered as one of the one or two greatest to ever play, he\u2019ll need at least one more championship under his belt.<\/span><\/p>\n
