Entering March Madness, Bennett Stirtz was among the under-the-radar NBA Draft prospects to keep an eye on<\/a>. Though Drake didn\u2019t have a long run in the 2025 NCAA Tournament, he didn\u2019t do anything to change that, averaging 21.0 points and 6.0 assists per game across two outings. So, when the Bulldogs\u2019 season ended, the junior guard was widely viewed as a tantalizing transfer target<\/a>.<\/p>\n

With Stirtz choosing to follow head coach Ben McCollum, the winner of the sweepstakes<\/a> turned out to be Iowa. These days, the Hawkeyes program is most famous for being home to women\u2019s basketball sensation Caitlin Clark<\/a>, who now plays for the WNBA\u2019s Indiana Fever. However, Iowa recently produced a top-five NBA Draft pick: Sacramento Kings forward Keegan Murray<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Drake Transfer Bennett Stirtz To Test NBA Draft Waters<\/h2>\n

Stirtz \u201cplans to test NBA Draft waters but will maintain college eligibility<\/a> with the intent to play for Iowa next season,\u201d according to the Des Moines Register\u2019s Tyler Tachman.<\/p>\n

Given Stirtz\u2019s age (21), Stirtz might not be drafted as high as Murray was, even if he put himself in the National Player of the Year conversation. Nevertheless, the 2025 Mountain Valley Conference Player of the Year has generated significant buzz this draft cycle, and deservedly so. At 6-foot-4 and 180 pounds, he\u2019s a highly skilled point guard who has a real opportunity to be successful at the next level.<\/p>\n

Scouting Report<\/h3>\n

In 2024-25, Stirtz averaged 19.2 points, 5.7 assists and 2.1 steals per game.<\/p>\n
