Last month, the Golden State Warriors<\/a> acquired Jimmy Butler<\/a> to pair him alongside Stephen Curry<\/a> and Draymond Green<\/a>. So far, his arrival has been great for Golden State as they are 16-3 with Butler this season, according to StatMuse<\/a>. After the Warriors traded for him from the Miami Heat<\/a>, some doubted his fit next to Green. Both veterans have loud personalities, and many fans wondered if they would clash. According to Butler, this has not been an issue.<\/p>\n

Recently, Butler detailed his relationship with his new teammate. In doing so, he made it clear that they both have the same priority–to win a championship.<\/p>\n

\u201cTwo winners that would do anything to win,\u201d Butler told ESPN<\/a> of his relationship with Green. \u201cHe could care less about personal success. He\u2019s just trying to win a championship. I just want to win. I don\u2019t give a f\u2014 about nothing else. We ain\u2019t going to never butt no motherf\u2014ing heads. \u2026 That\u2019s what people keep overlooking. They think like we going to get in fist fights. No we not. Because all we want to do is win.\u201d<\/p>\n

“We got a lot in common with kids, our love for basketball,” Butler said. “Small town individuals that happen to end up on a big-time college basketball squad, late draft picks that have overcome everything to become who they are today. That’s what those conversations are and I just appreciate it. I shed grace on everybody that just wants to sit here and s— on Jimmy Butler III and talk. But it’s because you don’t know what I’m doing. Nobody does.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Despite never winning a championship, Butler has NBA Finals experience. As a member of the Heat, Butler made the NBA Finals twice in 2020 and 2023. Now that he is on the Warriors, Butler will have an opportunity to add a ring to his collection.<\/p>\n

Recently, Butler detailed his maturity and growth since joining the NBA. The Marquette alum says that he is now a team-first player, which could improve the Warriors’ odds of winning a title.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think I\u2019ve matured a lot and grew into that,\u201d Butler told the media.<\/a> \u201cWhenever I was young in the league, it was always score, score, score, [and] show everybody that you belong in this league. I know that I belong in this league now. I\u2019m comfortable with who I am as a player. So now it\u2019s always about my guys, whatever you all need me to do. [Draymond Green]\u2019s the same way. Steph\u2019s the same way. All of us that have been in the league for a little bit. It\u2019s only about winning at this point in time in our career, and for them, it always has been. Not the same for me, but now I\u2019m winning.\u201d<\/p>\n

With just a few weeks remaining in the regular season, Butler and the Warriors are in a good spot to compete for a title. How far they can go remains to be seen, however.<\/p>\n
