The\u00a0<\/span>Boston Celtics<\/span><\/a>\u00a0are one of few teams in the NBA that can survive without one of their top two or best players. In the Celtics case,\u00a0<\/span>Jaylen Brown<\/span><\/a>‘s developed injury will keep him out of Boston’s lineup for at least two games. Brown is one of the team’s two best players,\u00a0<\/span>Jayson Tatum<\/span><\/a>\u00a0being the other. However,\u00a0<\/span>Tatum is more than capable of carrying the C’s<\/span><\/a>without Brown, just as Brown could in Tatum’s absence. This is an advantage that every team wishes they could have, and it’s why Boston is so incredibly dangerous.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Celtics’ Jaylen Brown Sidelined With Knee Injury<\/h2>\n

Boston Celtics Will Be Without Jaylen Brown Due to A Bone Bruise Injury Against the Utah Jazz and Portland Trail Blazers<\/h3>\n

According to the Celtics<\/span><\/a>, Brown is suffering from a bone bruise with posterior impingement in his right knee. These won’t be the first games he has missed in the month of March due to knee issues. Brown also sat out the Celtics win over the\u00a0<\/span>Brooklyn Nets<\/span><\/a>\u00a0three nights ago. In fact, both he and Tatum sat that game, and the Celtics still pulled out a victory. The Celtics embark on a six-game road trip starting tonight in Utah. The team reports he will be re-evaluated on Monday, but there’s no indication whether he will play the remaining games on the trip or continue to nurse his knee.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The Celtics can afford to sit Brown, considering their current status in the East and the fact that their roster is fully capable of surviving without him. With the playoffs just a few weeks away, having Brown fully healthy should be Boston’s priority number one.<\/p>\n

No Brown, No Problem<\/h3>\n

The Celtics have the league’s top starting five and one of the best overall rosters, if not the best. Apart from Brown and Tatum, they’re surrounded by\u00a0<\/span>Jrue Holiday<\/span><\/a>,\u00a0<\/span>Kristaps Porzi\u0146\u0123is<\/span><\/a>, and\u00a0<\/span>Derrick White<\/span><\/a>\u00a0as co-starters. Boston’s bench is also formidable, consisting of\u00a0<\/span>Al Horford<\/span><\/a>,\u00a0<\/span>Payton Pritchard<\/span><\/a>,\u00a0<\/span>Sam Hauser<\/span><\/a>, and\u00a0<\/span>Luke Kornet<\/span><\/a>. Horford is still producing despite his age, and Pritchard can win a game if he’s on target. The Boston fan favorite has given the Celtics faithful much to cheer about this year with many of his performances.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

While the loss of Brown, Tatum, or any one of their starters isn’t ideal, Boston is constructed and talented in a way where it doesn’t kill them. It’s why they hold such an advantage over the rest of the NBA. Cleveland might not survive without\u00a0<\/span>Donovan Mitchell<\/span><\/a>, Oklahoma City would not survive without\u00a0<\/span>Shai Gilgeous-Alexander<\/span><\/a>, and where would Denver be without\u00a0<\/span>Nikola Joki\u0107<\/span><\/a>? The Celtics are the gold standard of roster construction and depth, and that’s why they’ll be fine without Brown. That said, they should hope to welcome him back as soon as he is ready.<\/span><\/p>\n
