Not only did they win the Olympic gold medal in incredible fashion, but NBA fans got to see some amazing behind-the-scenes moments of some of the biggest stars in the league. LeBron James won the tournament MVP, but his fellow veteran legends, Stephen Curry and Kevin Durant, were the biggest winners from the documentary.

Fans got to see a side of Durant they rarely get. Durant has been a somewhat surly superstar in his latter years, but watching him break into tears just because of how much he loves basketball was an iconic moment of the series. Durant was also honored as perhaps the greatest scorer in US Olympics history. Watching team Serbia yell at each other in the locker room after Durant torched them with a hot first half was a highlight as well.

Kevin Durant got emotional when talking about playing on the Olympic stage in the new Netflix documentary:

“I looked in the crowd, it’s 27,000 people from all walks of life, all different countries …coming together for basketball. Sure, he struggled early in the Olympics and didn’t win MVP, but the show barely showed that! It focused on him as the hero that brought home gold. The reverence people spoke with regarding him during the interviews brought even more attention to his already legendary career. The show also perfectly captures why Curry is so beloved. His humble greatness and relationships with others stood out to everyone.

Bogdan Bogdanovic and Team Serbia

“99.99999% of the players in the world would have missed that shot. The team getting hammered before the medal ceremony after grabbing the bronze was a perfect ending to their run.

Victor Wembanayama and Team France’s Future

France ultimately fell short of grabbing the gold medal on their home court, but their Olympic run was still impressive. Seeing him break down after the loss to the USA showed how much he cares and will do anything to win. This is why the end of the documentary was so perfect. Wembanyama warns the world that he isn’t planning to lose many more international games in the future.
