He has yet to make his debut for the team as he deals with the injury, but many are excited about Ingram’s fit in Toronto. Unfortunately, fans will have to wait a little bit longer to see the one-time All-Star suit up for the Raptors.

According to Raptors reporter Josh Lewenberg, Ingram still has no timetable for his return. Furthermore, per Lewenberg, the team will provide another Ingram injury update in two weeks.

Brandon Ingram is progressing as expected, the Raptors say. The two sides reportedly did not see eye-to-eye on his asking price. Furthermore, with him being an impending free agent at the time of the trade, it made sense for the Pelicans to move on from him. Still, the Duke alum was having a good season before the injury.

In 18 games, Ingram averaged 22.2 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 5.2 assists. While these numbers did not lead to many victories for the Pelicans, they are still solid regardless. Now with the Raptors, the hope for them is that Ingram can contribute to winning basketball alongside Scottie Barnes and the rest of their young core.

A Raptors Starter Recently Spoke About His Future in Toronto

After signing a four-year contract extension, Ingram will likely remain in Toronto for the long run. However, the former Pelicans forward is not the only one aiming to stay with the Raptors. Recently, big man Jakob Poeltl revealed that he hopes to remain in Toronto for a long time.

“I haven’t given (my contract) any thought, like, those conversations are gonna start coming once the season ends, and I’m assuming pretty quickly after the season ends,” he said. “I haven’t had any conversations yet. But big picture, I mean, for sure … I’ve bought into this process and I’ve kind of gone through the tough times already. So, this is my home right now and I really hope it’s gonna be in the future as well.”

The Austrian native has two years remaining on his contract. This includes a $19.5 million player option for the 2026-27 season.

The Last Word On Brandon Ingram’s Injury

As it stands, there is just a little more than a month left in the season for Toronto. With a 20-42 record, it is unlikely that they will make the postseason this year. While not official, it is fair to assume Ingram is in serious danger of missing the rest of the season. Given Toronto’s standing in the league, this may be best for the team as it gives Ingram even more time to recover from his injury and prepare for next season. Regardless, Ingram’s status is something worth monitoring from here on out.

© Brett Davis-Imagn Images

Just before last month’s trade deadline, the Toronto Raptors acquired Brandon Ingram from the New Orleans Pelicans, though he was dealing with an ankle injury at the time.
