Two prominent Los Angeles Lakers players are currently facing a lawsuit over allegations stemming from a 2022 car crash near Los Angeles. LeBron James<\/a> and Bronny James<\/a> are facing a civil lawsuit for a car accident filed four months ago by two women. In the lawsuit, the women claim they were involved in an accident in 2022 that left them severely injured.<\/p>\n

Lakers Father-Son Duo Respond to Car Accident Lawsuit<\/h2>\n

According to the lawsuit, the incident occurred on November 13, 2022. The civil complaint was filed nearly two years later, on October 23, 2024<\/a>. LeBron and Bronny have been named in a lawsuit filed by April Almanza Lopez and Kiara Rae McGillen. They claimed that the two Lakers players crashed into them in November in Littlerock, CA.<\/p>\n

According to Baxter Holmes from ESPN<\/a>, attorneys representing the James family have denied every allegation in the lawsuit. The automobile accident was alleged to have taken place in Littlerock, California, which is about an hour\u2019s drive northeast of Los Angeles.<\/p>\n

The Palmdale Sherriff\u2019s Station or the California Highway Patrol do not have reports filed on the alleged crash.<\/p>\n

Sonali Olson and Nicole R. Fassonaki represent LeBron and Bronny in the alleged car accident. In their response to the court, they claimed<\/a> that \u201ctheir clients deny each and every allegation and further deny that plaintiffs have been damaged in the sum or sums alleged, or any other sum or sums, or at all.\u201d<\/p>\n

What Does the Car Accident Lawsuit Say About LeBron and Bronny?<\/h3>\n

In the lawsuit, the two women accuse the famous Lakers play of slamming into the plaintiffs, identified as April Almanza Lopez and Kiara Rae McGillen. The incident allegedly occurred on a highway in Littlerock, California. The lawsuit was filed hours before the Lakers tipped off the 2024-25 season.<\/p>\n

In the lawsuit, the two women state they suffered injuries requiring further medical attention. They also claimed that their vehicle suffered damage and a loss of value. They seek unspecified damages to be determined at trial. In the lawsuit, they wrote that \u201cthe vehicle, owned by Lopez, was damaged and depreciated so that repairs were necessary\u201d and that \u201cshe lost the use of said vehicle.\u201d<\/p>\n

LeBron and Bronny Respond to the Alleged Car Accident<\/h3>\n

Attorneys for LeBron and Bronny filed a multi-point rebuttal on February 20. In the rebuttal, the attorneys said, \u201cdefendants allege that plaintiffs\u2019 complaint fails to state facts sufficient to constitute a cause of action against these answering defendants\u201d and \u201cif plaintiffs suffered or sustained loss, damage or injury as alleged in the complaint, such loss, damage or injury was proximately caused and contributed to by plaintiffs in failing to conduct themselves in a manner ordinarily expected of a reasonably prudent person in the conduct of their affairs and person. Plaintiffs\u2019 recovery herein is diminished to the extent that plaintiffs\u2019 damages are attributable to plaintiffs\u2019 negligence.\u201d<\/p>\n

The attorneys for the Lakers stars claimed that \u201cthird parties other than these answering defendants were responsible in whole or in part for the damages alleged in the complaint\u201d.<\/p>\n

James’ family\u2019s attorneys asked for the judge to rule in their favor, including awarding costs incurred because of the lawsuit.<\/p>\n

LeBron and Bronny\u2019s First Season Together<\/h3>\n

This season, LeBron and Bronny made history<\/a> by becoming the first father-son duo<\/a> to play together in the NBA. In their first season together, LeBron is averaging 24.7 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 8.7 assists per game. Bronny spends most of his time in the G League. He has appeared in 17 games for the Lakers, averaging 1.4 points per game.<\/p>\n
