The Spurs would have to nose dive and tailspin extremely hard and fast to end the season as a bottom-five time in the league. Realistically, it’s unlikely to play out that way. That being said, Flagg ending up in San Antonio alongside Wemby would be an incredible development that would shock the league.

It’s also not something lost on Flagg. A Twitter post recently circulated the internet, originally via ESPN BET, capturing an image of Flagg and Wemby beside each other. The post featured a caption, “Imagine this duo in San Antonio.” The key word here is “imagine” because that is as far as it will likely go. Flagg responded to the point with a like, making the photo more exciting. So, clearly, Flagg wouldn’t mind moving to Texas over the summer.

liked by cooper flagg 🤔🤔🤔 pic.twitter.com/tJIrNgGHIb

— Wemby Central (@WembyCentral) February 24, 2025

On To Next Season…

Trading for Fox was supposed to ignite the Spurs even further this season. Hopefully, for his and the franchise’s sake, the blood clot in his shoulder is a one-off scenario, and Wemby can return to play for the 2025-26 season.

As for the draft, Flagg is almost assuredly out of the Spurs’ reach. They currently sit at number 12 in the West. San Antonio will undoubtedly win more games than the, say, the Wizards or Jazz as the regular season begins to wind down. Not to mention, Flagg could skip this year’s NBA draft and return to Duke for another season. At that point, San Antonio is definitely out of the picture as next season for the Spurs should look much different with a lot more winning. So, while the thought of Flagg and Wemby together is fun to think about, it’s simply only that: a thought. Still, it’s interesting to know where Flagg’s head is at, anyway.

© Rich Barnes-Imagn Images

At this point, there are only two things the San Antonio Spurs have going for them.
