At this point, there are only two things the\u00a0<\/span>San Antonio Spurs<\/span><\/a>\u00a0have going for them. Number one:\u00a0<\/span>Stephon Castle<\/span><\/a>\u00a0is a legitimate Rookie of the Year candidate, and the Spurs’ first-round draft pick last offseason is proving to be the right choice. Number two: The future. Unfortunately, the present is lost.\u00a0<\/span>Victor Wembanyama<\/span><\/a>‘s blood clot issues have essentially\u00a0<\/span>closed the door for San Antonio this season<\/span><\/a>. The playoffs were a strong possibility, but those hopes have evaporated. However, the future with Wemby and\u00a0<\/span>De’Aaron Fox<\/span><\/a>\u00a0is extremely bright. Could it become even brighter, though? What are the chances that Duke standout and projected No.1 draft pick in this summer’s draft,\u00a0<\/span>Cooper Flagg<\/span><\/a>, winds up with the Spurs?<\/span><\/p>\n

’25 Projected Draft Pick Supports San Antonio Spurs Destination<\/h2>\n

Could Projected No.1 Draft Pick Cooper Flagg Wind Up With Victor Wembanyama?<\/h3>\n

The chances are slim at best, given other teams are far worse than the Spurs. The Raptors,\u00a0<\/span>Pelicans<\/span><\/a>, Wizards, Jazz, and Hornets are significantly closer to nabbing the first draft pick than San Antonio. The Spurs would have to nose dive and tailspin extremely hard and fast to end the season as a bottom-five time in the league. Realistically, it’s unlikely to play out that way. That being said, Flagg ending up in San Antonio alongside Wemby would be an incredible development that would shock the league.<\/span><\/p>\n

It’s also not something lost on Flagg. A Twitter post recently circulated the internet, originally via ESPN BET, capturing an image of Flagg and Wemby beside each other. The post featured a caption, “Imagine this duo in San Antonio.” The key word here is “imagine” because that is as far as it will likely go. Flagg responded to the point with a like, making the photo more exciting. So, clearly, Flagg wouldn’t mind moving to Texas over the summer.<\/p>\n
