However, not everything is sour in The Bay. The Warriors have decided on center\u00a0<\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/p\/postqu01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Quinten Post<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">&#8216;s future. The 7 ft. big man out of Mississippi has done enough for the\u00a0<\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/basketball\/2025\/02\/06\/jazz-wisely-re-route-dennis-schroder-heat-warriors-trade\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_self\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Warriors<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0front office to award him with the promotion of a two-year, standard deal. The contract was initially a two-way agreement, with Post playing much of the season in the\u00a0<\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/basketball\/2025\/01\/27\/isaiah-thomas-signing-g-league\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_self\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">G League<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0with the Santa Cruz Warriors. However, Post has appeared to have made his mark. He should have plenty of opportunities to show the Warriors what he can do from here on out.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>Warriors Rising Center Upgraded to Standard Contract<\/h2>\n<h3>Golden State Warriors Center Quinten Post Earning His Roster Spot<\/h3>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Post has played just 13 games for the Warriors on an NBA floor, but his production has been impressive. Post averages 7.1 points, 3.4 rebounds and shoots an impressive 36.2% from long range. His biggest output this season came against the\u00a0<\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/basketball\/2025\/02\/05\/lonzo-ball-extends-bulls-tenure-amidst-trade-and-buyout-rumors\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_self\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Chicago Bulls<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0in late January, when he scored 20 points, going 5-10 from three. ESPN&#8217;s Shams Charania\u00a0<\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/ShamsCharania\/status\/1887947471415849263\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">[Twitter link]<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> reported Post&#8217;s contract update, but Michael Scotto of HoopsHype initially speculated about the development earlier in the year.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">The Golden State Warriors are converting two-way 7-footer Quinten Post to a two-year standard NBA contract, George Roussakis and Mark Bartelstein of <a  href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/PrioritySports?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">@PrioritySports<\/a> told ESPN. Post has emerged as a rotation C for Warriors, averaging 8.4 points and 4.3 rebounds over last 10 games. <a  href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/6nXuP6wVjs\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">pic.twitter.com\/6nXuP6wVjs<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Shams Charania (@ShamsCharania) <a  href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ShamsCharania\/status\/1887947471415849263?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">February 7, 2025<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Post has played exceptionally well with Santa Cruz,\u00a0<\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/stats.gleague.nba.com\/player\/1642366\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">averaging 18.8 points per game<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0as a starter. Oddly enough, though, his three-point percentage is 28%, significantly lower than his NBA mark. He&#8217;s also adding over nine rebounds a game, 1.1 steals, and 1.0 blocks.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>Battling For Playing Time<\/h3>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">With Post set to remain a Warriors until at least the 2025-26 campaign, he&#8217;ll compete for playing time with\u00a0<\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/j\/jackstr02.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Trace Jackson-Davis<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0and\u00a0<\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/l\/looneke01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Kevon Looney<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">. Golden State <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">showing their<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> faith in Post likely means that Looney&#8217;s time as Warrior is close to the end, and this next offseason could see his departure. Post has started in the Warriors&#8217; last five outings, averaging 6.4 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 2.0 assists in 16.6 minutes <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">over that span<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Jackson-Davis is in his second year in Golden State and has shown a lot of potential, but he has yet to prove if he can be the Warriors number one big man down the road. He and Post should be expected to compete for playing time from here on out. Post has already shown he may have a higher ceiling offensively over Jackson-Davis, considering his ability to shoot the three.
