Despite some serious discussions, nothing bore fruition. Amid the Warriors’ current struggles, ESPN’s Shams Charania shared the latest happenings around the Bay Area. As per the NBA insider, the Warriors management has been reaching out to almost every All-Star in the league. The franchise cannot afford to let Curry’s window for a fifth championship go in vain as he continues to play at a high level. However, there are several other variables that cannot be overlooked.

ESPN’s Shams Reports Warriors Calling About Nearly Every All-Star

The Frantic Search For a Top-Tier Talent

Kicking off the 2024-25 season with a phenomenal 12-3 record, things have only spiraled downwards for the Dubs. Coach Kerr’s rotations and adjustments haven’t clicked, with injuries and mediocre performances contributing to this downfall as well.

Hoping to flip the switch, GM Mike Dunleavy Jr. and the front office have been making several inquiries for the high-profile players in the league. Shedding further light on the situation, Shams had the following to say on The Pat McAfee Show.

“The Warriors are legitimately calling about every All-Star player. Just name the All-Star player, and the Warriors have probably called them. Paul George, they’ve called. They make calls on every star and that of course includes players like LeBron, players like Kevin Durant, players like Jimmy Butler. Well, one could allude this to their close to a decade-long dominance that included four championships and six Finals appearances. It took teams a long time before figuring out a way to curtail Kerr’s fast-paced flowing offense. Adding to their woes was KD joining the mix in 2016, making them virtually unbeatable. But, it might be a little early to write them off, something many did post the 2019 Finals.

Image credit: © Cary Edmondson-Imagn Images

Tracing back to last summer, the Golden State Warriors front office has been trying to pair an All-Star talent alongside Stephen Curry.
