This will not be the first string of consecutive games missed due to injury for Green, who just returned from another injury to his back, accompanied by an illness. How the Warriors fare without their longtime veteran will flesh over the course of this week, starting with a date with the Boston Celtics Monday afternoon.<\/span><\/p>\n

Draymond Green Injury Sidelines Him At Least Four Games<\/h2>\n

Warriors To Be Without Draymond Green Due to Injury<\/h3>\n

Green’s injury update was\u00a0<\/span>reported by The Athletic’s Anthony Slater<\/span><\/a>, who specified Green’s return timetable and the injury details. Green was diagnosed with a mild left calf strain. It’s relatively good news, depending on how you look at it, considering how worse it could be if the injury were more severe. A week without Green might be manageable as opposed to a month. Considering where the Warriors are in the standings right now, and as they continue to falter, losing Green for a significant <\/span>period of time<\/span> would be the exact opposite of what Golden State needs.<\/span><\/p>\n

Thankfully, if it turns out to be one week, Green will miss just four games. Those games include matchups against the\u00a0<\/span>Sacramento Kings<\/span><\/a>, Chicago Bulls, and the\u00a0<\/span>Los Angeles Lakers<\/span><\/a>, aside from the Celtics. Overall, Green has remained in the lineup for most of this season. Last season, he played in just 55 of 82 games. Granted, he missed most of that time due to suspension reasons, but still, 27 games missed is a large chunk.<\/span><\/p>\n

Hopefully, for the Warriors sake, when Green does return from this newest ailment, he can return for good and play an entire game. After returning from his latest three-game absence, he played in only 3 minutes against the Washington Wizards before the injury to his ankle occurred. Green is averaging 8.4 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 5.4 assists in 27 minutes per game this season. Additionally, he’s getting one steal and 1.1 blocks per game. His elite defense remains intact despite his lack of scoring.<\/p>\n

A Tough Road Ahead in The Bay<\/h3>\n

Suffice it to say that the Warriors have fallen off the cliff in recent weeks. After a roaring start to the season, things were looking good in The Bay\u2014surprisingly, considering the roster. However, things have turned sour, and the Warriors have fallen down the standings and are currently out of playoff positioning.<\/p>\n

Time will tell if they\u00a0<\/span>make any deadline trades<\/span><\/a>, but the road ahead will not be easy. It’s a sad trajectory considering\u00a0<\/span>Steph Curry<\/span><\/a>‘s greatness and the team’s inability to win games.
