Los Angeles Lakers head coach JJ Redick<\/a> has responded to Charles Barkley’s comments<\/a> about him and his future with the team. In a brief statement on Friday night, he made it clear that he won’t be bothered by the media attention he’s attracted. But Redick’s response suggests that he could hear more criticism from Barkley soon.<\/p>\n

I watched the clip, it was 64. Literally don’t care. I have other thoughts, but don’t care.”<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

This back-and-forth between the two started because of a statement Redick made criticizing the sports media industry and how it covers the NBA. Redick said the constant negativity from analysts such as Barkley has led to a damaged “product” that fans are losing interest in. In response, Barkley railed against Redick on TNT. He suggested Redick wouldn’t lead the Lakers to success and could possibly be fired in the near future.<\/p>\n

The Feud Continues<\/h3>\n

Neither Redick nor Barkley are afraid of making controversial comments. That means it’s possible that this bitter war of words is just beginning. There is a good chance that Barkley will respond to Redick’s statement, and the rift between the two could grow.<\/p>\n
