Even with the return of <a  href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/m\/maxeyty01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Tyrese Maxey<\/a> and part-time returns of <a  href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/g\/georgpa01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Paul George<\/a> and <a  href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/e\/embiijo01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Joel Embiid<\/a>, the Sixers record is still only 4-14, and they are currently the 14th seed in a weak Eastern Conference. Embiid and George continue to be in and out of the lineup, making the Sixers injury report a must-check daily. Now, they are making minor roster changes to bring some life into their incredibly disappointing season. The Sixers have decided to waive <a  href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/q\/quinole01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Lester Quinones<\/a> and sign <a  href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/n\/nancepe01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Pete Nance<\/a> to a two-way contract.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><strong>Sixers Shake-Up Roster While Injury Report Remains Concerning<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h3><strong>Sixers Record Not Improving<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">When Embiid <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/basketball\/2024\/11\/03\/nba-investigate-joel-embiid-altercation-with-reporter\/\" target=\"_self\">returned from suspension and injury<\/a> on November 13th against the New York Knicks, it seemed like the Sixers\u2019 fortunes could be turning. Unfortunately, things haven\u2019t gone that way. Embiid has only played four of the nine games since being cleared by the medical staff and the league to play. The Sixers haven\u2019t won a single game with Embiid in the lineup, and the former MVP doesn\u2019t look that good.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Although it is a small sample size, Embiid is only shooting 37.9% from the field this year. That is way below his career average of over 50.3%. On top of Embiid\u2019s subpar play, George has still only played nine games this season, and Maxey mixed a small chunk as well.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Sixers record is feeling these injuries. As they currently sit near the bottom of the Eastern Conference standings, it is going to be a battle just to get into the playoff picture. Luckily, the East has been terrible this year and only has five teams with an above .500 record. The Sixers are only three games out of the 10th-seed play-in spot.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Pete Nance Signed, and Lester Quinones Waived<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Sixers are trying to strengthen their frontcourt by signing 24-year-old center Pete Nance from the G League&#8217;s Cleveland Charge to a two-way contract, as reported by <\/span><a  href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/TimBontemps\/status\/1863736595544670419?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1863736595544670419%7Ctwgr%5E2f98156a089f2f7d0b3c31dc84c6fbb8c80b4626%7Ctwcon%5Es1_&amp;ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.phillyvoice.com%2Fsixers-news-analysis-pete-nance-nba-two-way-contracts-lester-quinones%2F\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tim Bontemps of ESPN<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">At 6-foot-11 and 230 pounds, Nance could provide some size to a depleted Sixers front line. Nance played in eight NBA games for the Cleveland Cavaliers last season. Over the past two seasons in the G League, he has posted <a  href=\"https:\/\/basketball.realgm.com\/player\/Pete-Nance\/D-League\/127259\/Career\/By_Season\/Per_Game\/Full%20Season\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">averages<\/a> of 14.1 points, 7.9 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 1.5 blocks per game.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As a result of this move, Philadelphia is releasing two-way guard Lester Quinones. Despite numerous injuries in Philadelphia, Quinones has only played in four games for the Sixers this season.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Sixers Injury Report Not Getting Better<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With<a  href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/d\/drumman01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> Andre Drummond<\/a> sidelined for at least a week and Embiid&#8217;s return from knee issues and personal reasons still uncertain, the Sixers decided they needed to grab a bit more size. Nance will certainly provide that, although it is unclear how many minutes he will get. If Quinones only played in four games despite the full Sixers injury report, Nance shouldn\u2019t expect a ton of run.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">One other player who may see a big uptick in minutes with Drummond and Embiid sidelined is rookie <a  href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/b\/bonaad01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Adem Bona<\/a>. Bona has already played in 12 games this season for the Sixers, though he is only averaging 5.2 minutes per game. He saw 20 minutes of playing time in the Sixers&#8217; most recent game and totaled four points, five rebounds, and three blocks.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Sixers are still struggling.
