On Wednesday, USA Basketball announced the 12 players<\/a> who will be representing Team USA during the next phase of the AmeriCup Qualifying Tournament. Their next two games in this round of qualifying will take place in Washington, D.C. USA will be playing Puerto Rico on November 22, and then the Bahamas on November 25.<\/p>\n

Stephen Silas will be the head coach for Team USA. He was the head coach for the Houston Rockets<\/a> for three seasons, spanning from 2020-21 until 2022-23. One of his assistant coaches will be Basketball Hall of Famer Patrick Ewing<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Who will represent Team USA during the upcoming qualifying round? All 12 players on the roster have previous experience playing in the NBA, some more than others.<\/p>\n

USA Roster Revealed For November 2024 AmeriCup Qualifying<\/h2>\n

Most Notable Players On Roster<\/h3>\n

The player with the most NBA playing experience on Team USA\u2019s AmeriCup roster is Robert Covington<\/a>. The 33-year-old has spent the previous 11 seasons in the NBA, playing last season with the Los Angeles Clippers and Philadelphia 76ers<\/a>. He has averages of 10.8 points and 5.5 rebounds in 614 regular season games during his NBA playing career.<\/p>\n

The other most notable player on Team USA\u2019s roster is Frank Kaminsky<\/a>. Kaminsky had a superb career collegiately playing for Wisconsin where he was named the National Player of the Year in 2015, an honor he won unanimously. Selected ninth in the 2015 NBA Draft, he has played eight seasons in the NBA, last appearing in a game in the 2022-23 season. Kaminsky was with the Phoenix Suns<\/a> in training camp last month, but was released prior to the start of the season.<\/p>\n

Fans of the NBA also are likely aware of Keita Bates-Diop<\/a>, who played the previous six seasons in the league. He was involved in two blockbuster trades in the offseason. First, the Brooklyn Nets dealt him to the New York Knicks<\/a> in the deal that netted New York Mikal Bridges<\/a>. A few months later, the Knicks sent Bates-Diop to the Minnesota Timberwolves in the Karl-Anthony Towns<\/a>\/Julius Randle<\/a> trade. Minnesota waived Bates-Diop before the regular season began.<\/p>\n

Who Are The Other Players on Team USA’s Roster?<\/h3>\n

The other nine players on Team USA’s roster are Henry Ellenson<\/a>, Dusty Hannahs<\/a>, Nate Hinton<\/a>, Jahmi’us Ramsey<\/a>, Chasson Randle<\/a>, Javonte Smart<\/a>, David Stockton<\/a>, Paul Watson<\/a>, and Malik Williams<\/a>. Stockton is the son of the all-time leader in both assists and steals, John Stockton<\/a>. Hinton, Ramsey, Smart, and Williams all appeared in at least one NBA regular season game in 2023-24. Out of these nine players, Randle has the most playing experience in the NBA with 119 career appearances.<\/p>\n

In the men’s basketball AmeriCup history<\/a>, Team USA has won the tournament seven times, with the most recent coming in 2017. Argentina is the most recent winner of the tournament in 2022. Team USA fell to Argentina in the semifinals that year before defeating Canada in the third place game. Some of the more notable players on that year’s Team USA squad include Norris Cole<\/a>, Jodie Meeks<\/a>, and Patrick McCaw<\/a>.<\/p>\n
