Well, he certainly believes in that.

Chris Paul Believes Spurs Will Win 30+ Games

During his postgame interview after the loss to the Los Angeles Clippers, CP3 said he cannot fathom 22 wins. Of course, for someone who is used to winning like Paul is, that is certainly an unfamiliar ground.

“I cannot fathom 22 wins. These guys work hard, and practice and try every day, and you know, they don’t see the wins. It looks like it is never enough. CP3 said,

“We are figuring it out. We sort of figuring out as we go. The league changes, traditional bigs switching one to five. He has probably never played with a guard like me, who is constantly doing different things. I’ve never played with a center for whom I set screens for. So, it is different”.

Can the Spurs Win 30+ Games?

Currently, the Spurs have a 3-4 record. Which is a 42% win percentage that would put them on pace to win 34 or 35 games. That is exactly where the bettors see the Spurs; their preseason over/under win total was set at 35.5. In other words, most people in Vegas believe the Spurs will win 34 or 35 games, but it will be hard to get more than that. So far, the Spurs are getting the wins against their competition and some better teams. For example, they got a win against the Minnesota Timberwolves, a team favored to be in the top four in the Western Conference.

Should the Spurs Try to Get 35+ Wins?

Many experts believe that the 2025 Draft class will be one of the strongest in the next several years. Cooper Flagg is the big prize, but there will be plenty of talent to go around after the first pick. The Spurs will need some luck even if they end up among the 10 worst teams to get the first pick. They got lucky with the Wemby draft, as they were tied with the Houston Rockets and the Detroit Pistons for that No.1 pick.

For example, Nolan Traore is projected as a top-five pick in this upcoming draft, and the Spurs will have two bites at the apple. They have their own pick, plus an unprotected from the Atlanta Hawks. Last year, the Hawks had the No.1 overall pick, and this year, they do not seem like a team with a chance to make the playoffs.

Drafting Traore will solve the Spurs’ point guard position in the long run. Or they can get an offensive player like Dylan Harper, or a wing like Ace Bailey. In any case, while the Spurs would love to improve, they are better off allowing Wemby one more year to grow and get another quality young player.

Chris Paul has never been on a team that has won less than 30 games.
