Let\u2019s <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">take a<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> look at some of the longevity records LeBron can break this <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">year<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0and those he might never catch.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>3 NBA Records LeBron James Can Still Break and 1 That He Can&#8217;t<\/h2>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">James will be 39 years old at the start of the 2024-25 season and will turn 40 during the season; his birthday is on December 30. <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The native of Akron, Ohio, entered the league only six months after his 18th birthday,\u00a0<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">which<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0allowed<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> him to have an incredibly\u00a0<\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/basketball\/2024\/10\/09\/lakers-lebron-james-biggest-snubs-in-nba-gm-survey\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_self\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">long career<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> in the league.<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> Let\u2019s take a look at the longevity records that he can catch.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Minutes Played<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">LeBron has played 56,697 minutes in the NBA, <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">which is the equivalent of<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> 39.37 days of non-stop hooping.<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> That is an astonishing number, but he is still not the No.1 ranked player in that regard.\u00a0<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">He is still 849 minutes behind <\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/a\/abdulka01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Kareem Abdul-Jabbar<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">. Yet, if he averages close to 30 minutes per game, he can catch Kareem by Game 30 of the new season.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Games Played<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Despite his long career, James is still not in the top five of <a  href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/leaders\/g_career.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">games played<\/a> in the league. With 1,492 games under his belt, he sits in sixth place.\u00a0<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">He has <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">a lot of<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> catching up to do, considering <\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/p\/parisro01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Robert Parish<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> sits at the top with 1,611 games. He sits behind Kareem, who has 273.41. For the last six seasons, LeBron has averaged<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a07.38\u00a0<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"><a  href=\"https:\/\/www.basketball-reference.com\/players\/j\/jamesle01.html\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">win shares<\/a>, meaning he can catch Kareem by the 2025-26 season.<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Field Goals<\/span><\/h3>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">LeBron has played <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">a huge<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> part of his career during the three-point era. That means he needed fewer field goals to become the highest scorer in the league. So far, he has made 14,837 shots.
