Five-Star Chet Holmgren Commits to Gonzaga

Chet Holmgren, Gonzaga

The Gonzaga Bulldogs had an unbelievable season and just came one victory short of a National Championship against the Baylor Bears. Jalen Suggs and Corey Kispert, as well as Drew Timme, are all seemingly headed for the NBA after successful careers at Gonzaga. However, there is good news for Zags fans. Five-star high school phenom Chet Holmgren has decided to commit to Gonzaga to play for Mark Few, per Jon Rothstein.

The rich get richer, and Holmgren is a once-in-a-lifetime talent according to some.

Five-Star Chet Holmgren to Gonzaga

Have you heard of Holmgren before? If not, where have you been? He’s been a social media sensation for a few years with highlight after highlight in high school since he was 15 at least. He’s the number one player in the 2021 class and his decision to go to Gonzaga isn’t much of a surprise.

Just watch this video below and you’ll already fall in love with this guy.

He can do everything and will be nearly impossible for anybody to guard at the college level. He was named McDonald’s All-American, Naismith Prep Player of the Year, and Morgan Wooten National Player of the Year.

He’s easily the consensus number one player, according to ESPN, Rivals, and 247sports. At 195 pounds he will continue to grow into his body.

For Mark Few and Gonzaga, this is just another huge get. It will be more important considering the fact Suggs and Kispert are dashing for the NBA after their success in Washington.

With decisions remaining for Gonzaga, it’s quite possible they enter the season as the sure-fire top team in the polls. After all, Holmgren already has people slating him as the top pick in the 2022 NBA Draft.

Gonzaga fans, and basketball fans in general, enjoy Holmgren playing with one of college basketball’s best coaches and programs.
