However, league sources told Rosenthal that the Cubs are highly unlikely to trade Suzuki. Instead, the Cubs may be more open to dealing<\/a> first baseman\/outfielder Cody Bellinger<\/a> in a separate trade. The Astros’ pursuit in Suzuki and Paredes suggests that the team is committed to remaining competitive, even if they trade Tucker and lose free-agent third baseman Alex Bregman<\/a>. The Astros are currently negotiating with Bregman.<\/p>\n
