He was a minor league All-Star in 2017 and 2018 and debuted with the Blue Jays that season.

His first full season came in 2019 when he appeared in 107 games, slashing .207/.279/.360 with 13 home runs and 43 RBI. The 2022 campaign proved to be Jansen’s career-best so far. He missed a month after fracturing the little finger on his catching hand in 2022. A fracture to the middle finger of his throwing hand sent him to the injured list in September of 2023.

He missed the start of last season after fracturing his right wrist while batting in a Spring Training game in March. In 2021, Jansen shared playing time with Blue Jays newcomer Alejandro Kirk, 26, who ultimately took over the position.

Jansen’s career slash of .220/.308/.419 with 74 home runs and 220 RBI undermines his best pro seasons.
