The 32-year-old has struggled with his defense, injuries, and offensive slumps over the years, but still has some pop. He has consistently ranked in the top 10 in exit velocity, with barrel, hard hit, and home run percentages well above league average. S\u00e1nchez drew criticism in New York for his blocking, but he improved there significantly after adjusting his stance in 2021.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Since leaving the Yankees, S\u00e1nchez has bounced around the league, serving mainly as a backup catcher and designated hitter. The closest the Dominican-born slugger has gotten to a near-everyday role was with the San Diego Padres in 2023.
