The Chicago Cubs<\/strong> haven’t won a World Series<\/strong> title since 1908. A lot has happened since then. A couple World Wars. The fall of the Ottoman Empire<\/strong>. The discovery of most of modern medicine. Chicago has come close at times. Yet every time it seems like they’ll get there, the Curse of the Billy Goat rears its horned head.<\/p>\n

Perhaps the most heartbreaking example, as many will remember, came when a certain fan (who shall remain nameless) interfered with what could potentially have been an out.\u00a0Moises Alou<\/a><\/strong> certainly thought it was going to be. From there, things got away from the Cubs and they were eventually eliminated by the\u00a0then-Florida Marlins<\/strong>. Given all the time that’s passed and the decades of futility, one has to wonder what would happen if the Cubs ever did win it all.<\/p>\n

If the Cubs Win the World Series…<\/strong><\/h1>\n

This year, finally, it looks as if nothing can stop Chicago from breaking the curse. They finished the year with a record of 103-58, the best in Major League Baseball<\/strong>, and won their division by a whopping 17.5 games. In Jon Lester<\/a><\/strong>, Jake Arrieta<\/a><\/strong>, and Kyle Hendricks<\/a><\/strong>, they feature perhaps the best 1-2-3 punch in the league. Their offense, led by\u00a0Anthony Rizzo<\/a><\/strong> and MVP-candidate Kris Bryant<\/a><\/strong>,\u00a0is nothing to sneeze at, either. Oh, and they can field the ball pretty well, too.<\/p>\n

With all that, in addition to a relatively weak\u00a0National League<\/strong> competition pool (their biggest threat is likely the\u00a0Washington Nationals<\/strong>), it truly does finally look like the Cubs year. So, what will it look like if they actually do it?
