Whichever team wins game one of the doubleheader will clinch one of the two remaining berths while a split would put both the Braves and Mets in the postseason and eliminate the Diamondbacks.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In that scenario, the Braves would earn the No. 2 Wild Card and fifth seed in the field and open the Wild Card series Tuesday in San Diego, while the Mets would earn the third and final Wild Card berth, making them the sixth seed and head back to Milwaukee for a rematch with the Brewers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cWe have a chance,\u201d Mets manager Carlos Mendoza said. \u201cWe\u2019ve got to play and we need one more. We feel good.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<h3>MLB&#8217;s Handling Of The Situation<\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In a way, the organized chaos that made the Monday <a  href=\"https:\/\/sports.yahoo.com\/mets-braves-doubleheader-how-did-we-get-here-whos-going-to-pitch-and-what-are-the-possible-outcomes-224837175.html#:~:text=If%20the%20Mets%20and%20Braves%20split%20the%20doubleheader,%20Atlanta%20would\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">doubleheader<\/a>\u00a0necessary and meaningful made things easy for MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred. He had the option to cancel the doubleheader if seeding were the only matter remaining to be decided.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The situation has been controversial since last weekend. Weather forecasts began to suggest the potential for rainouts before the Mets headed south to Atlanta.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Feathers will still be ruffled thanks to the added travel and lack of rest before starting the postseason.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cI wish MLB would push the playoffs back a little bit,\u201d outfielder J.D. Martinez said. \u201cI think it\u2019s an unfair advantage to the team we\u2019re going to play. We know what\u2019s on the line. You\u2019re going to scratch to win those games and then turn around and get on a flight after you\u2019ve already blown out the day be.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cIt\u2019s going to be a tough task.
