Young, who joined the Rangers front office in 2020, was also promoted to president of baseball operations. He has led the Rangers&#8217; entire baseball operations group since August 2022. The 45-year-old executive had been in the final season of his previous deal, which ran from 2021-24. Last season, he became the first former player since 2005 to win the World Series as head of baseball operations. Young is also the first to win a World Series as a player and general manager in over 50 years.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cThe Texas Rangers organization holds a very special place for me, and I am excited to continue building on what we\u2019ve started here,\u201d said Young. \u201cWhile the opportunity to be a part of a World Series Championship in my hometown was a tremendous thrill, our goal is to field a club that can contend for playoff berths every season.
