The St. Louis Cardinals<\/a> have recently made a significant move by promoting their top prospect, Quinn Mathews<\/a>, to Triple-A Memphis. This decision comes after Mathews’ exceptional performance at Double-A Springfield, solidifying his reputation as a formidable pitcher. At the young age of 23, this talented left-hander, who is currently ranked as the No. 3 prospect in the Cardinals’ organization, is on a fast track to joining the major league team as a starting pitcher soon.<\/span><\/p>\n

Quinn Mathews Takes Major Leap Forward<\/h2>\n

Mathews, a 2023 fourth-round draft pick, has risen through the minor leagues at a blistering pace this season<\/a>. Through 22 total appearances in 2024, has thrown for a 2.27 ERA and a 0.85 WHIP. He’s also racked up strikeouts, leading the minor leagues and posting a 12.84 K\/9 this season. This includes only six games at Low-A, in which he posted a 1.47 ERA, and only seven at High-A, posting a 2.68 ERA. By percentile rankings, he’s been one of the most dominant minor league pitchers this year.<\/p>\n
