Here are five fantasy pitchers to drop right now.<\/p>\n<h2>Five Fantasy Pitchers to Drop Right Now<\/h2>\n<h3>Walker Buehler, SP,\u00a0 Los Angeles Dodgers<\/h3>\n<p>It should go without saying, but the two-time All-Star is having a rough go this season. <a  href=\"https:\/\/www.baseball-reference.com\/players\/b\/buehlwa01.shtml?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=lastwordonsports.com&amp;utm_campaign=2024-08-27_br\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Walker Buehler<\/a> hasn&#8217;t performed well all season but is still owned in 53% of leagues on Yahoo! The right-hander has put up approximately -18 points since June 6th. Buehler also hasn&#8217;t made it past the fifth inning since the end of May.\u00a0 He isn&#8217;t a viable streaming option, much less a starter.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">When I hear Walker Buehler is starting&#8230; <a  href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/MhNyIAB3RJ\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">pic.twitter.com\/MhNyIAB3RJ<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Ptero Dactyl (@dactyl_ptero) <a  href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/dactyl_ptero\/status\/1827814132072014263?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">August 25, 2024<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<h3>Craig Kimbrel, RP, Baltimore Orioles<\/h3>\n<p>Nine-time All-Star <a  href=\"https:\/\/www.baseball-reference.com\/players\/k\/kimbrcr01.shtml?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=lastwordonsports.com&amp;utm_campaign=2024-08-27_br\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Craig Kimbrel<\/a> was serviceable earlier in the season to get fantasy owners some saves. However, he hasn&#8217;t logged a save since July 7th and has fallen apart since he <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/baseball\/2024\/08\/15\/orioles-closer-seranthony-dominguez\/\" target=\"_self\">lost the closer job<\/a>. His ERA since July 7th is over 9.00 and batters are hitting .269 off of him this month. Kimbrel <a  href=\"https:\/\/www.si.com\/mlb\/orioles\/news\/baltimore-orioles-not-expected-to-pick-up-option-on-former-all-star-closer\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">no longer has any fantasy value<\/a>, despite ownership in 74% of leagues. It&#8217;s time for you to move on from Kimbrel, just like it&#8217;s time for Kimbrel to move on from baseball.<\/p>\n<h3>Jos\u00e9 Alvarado, RP, Philadelphia Phillies<\/h3>\n<p>The stopper hasn&#8217;t logged a win or a <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/baseball\/2024\/08\/01\/phillies-miserable-month-july\/\" target=\"_self\">save since July 3rd<\/a>.\u00a0 That was also the last outing where <a  href=\"https:\/\/www.baseball-reference.com\/players\/a\/alvarjo03.shtml?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=lastwordonsports.com&amp;utm_campaign=2024-08-27_br\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jos\u00e9 Alvarado<\/a> scored double-digit points. Alvarado is still owned in 43% of leagues. Not only has Alvarado been removed from save situations, he&#8217;s now on the restricted list for a &#8220;personal matter.&#8221; Alvarado brings no value to your roster and needs to be dropped right now.<\/p>\n<h3>Taj Bradley, SP, Tampa Bay Rays<\/h3>\n<p>The next two pitchers are on the list based on their last few games.\u00a0 A larger sample size of <a  href=\"https:\/\/www.baseball-reference.com\/players\/b\/bradlta01.shtml?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=lastwordonsports.com&amp;utm_campaign=2024-08-27_br\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Taj Bradley<\/a> shows a young pitcher who is figuring out MLB.\u00a0 He has great upside (51 fantasy points versus Washington) and I was lucky enough to pick him up early this summer. Bradley&#8217;s last four starts, however, have been negative or single-digit outings. I like Bradley but he is trending down and that is concerning at this time of the year. If there aren&#8217;t any better options it may not be worth dropping Bradley, but you should at least consider it.<\/p>\n<h3>Merrill Kelly, SP, Arizona Diamondbacks<\/h3>\n<p><a  href=\"https:\/\/www.baseball-reference.com\/players\/k\/kellyme01.shtml?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=lastwordonsports.com&amp;utm_campaign=2024-08-27_br\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Merrill Kelly<\/a> is in the same boat as Taj Bradley. He is completely serviceable, but serviceable may not get you to the finish line. The right-hander also doesn&#8217;t have the upside of Bradley. Kelly has given up ten runs in his last two starts, including three home runs. Since rejoining the rotation at the beginning of August, batters are hitting .286 off of Kelly. The 2-0 record is deceiving with the run support Kelly has received while sporting a 6.75 ERA.<\/p>\n<h2>Pitchers You Should Add<\/h2>\n<h3>Sean Manaea, SP\/RP, New York Mets<\/h3>\n<p><a  href=\"https:\/\/www.baseball-reference.com\/players\/m\/manaese01.shtml?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=lastwordonsports.com&amp;utm_campaign=2024-08-27_br\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> Sean Manaea<\/a> is arguably having his <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/baseball\/2024\/08\/06\/mets-sean-manaea-qualifying-offer\/\" target=\"_self\">best year in the majors<\/a>. He has gone seven innings or more in four of his last five games, maxing out with 58 fantasy points against a tough Minnesota Twins team in that span. Manaea is only 70% owned and has the RP designation if you are looking for points and not saves.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Sean Manaea is perfect through 4! <a  href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/LGM?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">#LGM<\/a> <a  href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/qiTiHQwJgo\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">pic.twitter.com\/qiTiHQwJgo<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Daily Mets (@daily_mets_) <a  href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/daily_mets_\/status\/1826318289716298176?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">August 21, 2024<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<h3>Brandon Pfaadt, SP, Arizona Diamondbacks<\/h3>\n<p>If you drop Merrill Kelly, go with <a  href=\"https:\/\/www.baseball-reference.com\/players\/p\/pfaadbr01.shtml?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=lastwordonsports.com&amp;utm_campaign=2024-08-27_br\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Brandon Pfaadt<\/a> as a replacement. Pfaadt is more reliable than Kelly. He hasn&#8217;t had a negative outing since June 19th and is available in 77% of leagues.<\/p>\n<h3>Ryan Walker, RP, San Francisco Giants<\/h3>\n<p>If you need saves, check to see if you are in the 38% of leagues that still have <a  href=\"https:\/\/www.baseball-reference.com\/search\/search.fcgi?pid=walkery01,walker007rya,walker006rya&amp;search=Ryan+Walker&amp;utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=lastwordonsports.com&amp;utm_campaign=2024-08-27_br\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Ryan Walker<\/a> available. Walker took on the closer role after <a href=\"https:\/\/www.baseball-reference.com\/players\/d\/dovalca01.shtml?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=lastwordonsports.com&amp;utm_campaign=2024-08-27_br\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Camilo Doval<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/baseball\/2024\/08\/09\/sf-giants-option-camilo-doval\/\" target=\"_self\">was DFA&#8217;d<\/a>.
