The quarterfinals are only four weeks away for those who play on Yahoo!. No matter what platform you play on, the end of the season is rapidly approaching. Whether you are making a late-season push or you have been leading your league all season, there are ways to make your team stronger. At this point in the season, making low-risk/high-reward moves can be the difference in winning your league. Here are five players currently on the IL who are still worth adding to your fantasy team.

Five Players on the IL to Add to Your Fantasy Roster

3B Max Muncy, Los Angeles Dodgers

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts reported that Max Muncy is slated to be activated on Tuesday of next week. Through his first 40 games of the season, Muncy slashed .223/.323/.475 with nine home runs and 28 RBI. Through five rehab starts with Triple-A Oklahoma City, Muncy is slashing .223/.323/.475 and looks healthy. ESPN reports that Muncy will spend the rest of the weekend in Oklahoma City and join the Dodgers for their match-up with Seattle. Muncy is rostered in only 68% of leagues but is rising on Yahoo!

The return dates are set for Max Muncy and Tommy Edman.https://t.co/nYYubdIoxy

— Dodger Blue (@DodgerBlue1958) August 17, 2024

SS Carlos Correa, Minnesota Twins

Carlos Correa has been dealing with plantar fasciitis since mid-July. He has been showing progress, however, and may be getting close to a rehab assignment. In his last thirty days before hitting the IL, Correa was slashing .373/.439/..619 with eight home runs and 28 RBI. He may be difficult to pick up, with 81% ownership, but if you have an open spot he is worth stowing.

SP Jared Jones, Pittsburgh Pirates

Jared Jones was showing off his velocity before Paul Skenes was called up. While Jones isn’t as polished as Skenes, Jones also has some nasty stuff. Jones will most likely need two more rehab starts before joining the Pirates. The righty is rostered in 75% of leagues, but is worth stashing away for a week or two before he comes back. Jones won’t get a lot of run support but his strikeout value makes up for the lack of wins he will get.

Words can’t express how ready I am to watch Jared Jones pitch again pic.twitter.com/pvx1kpSuAq

— Platinum Ke’Bryan (@PlatinumKey13) July 31, 2024

2B/SS Matt McLain, Cincinnati Reds

Matt McLain has been out for all of the 2024 season so far with a shoulder injury. It is more likely than not that the utility infielder won’t make it back this season. There is a chance he comes back though, and if he does you will get a player with speed and power. You also get the bonus of McLain being eligible at two positions. McLain is rostered in just over 40% of leagues, so there are plenty of fantasy owners out there holding out hope. McLain is worth the add ONLY if you have an open roster spot.

SP Reynaldo López, Atlanta Braves

Reynaldo López suffered a forearm strain at the end of July. He looked good in his one Triple-A start with Gwinnett and will be back with the Braves next week. López is rostered in 81% of leagues. This number seems low since he is sporting a 2.06 ERA with 102 strikeouts and seven wins this season. If you are in the 19% of leagues that haven’t rostered López, pick him up.

Another six scoreless frames for Reynaldo López 😮‍💨 pic.twitter.com/FsasXGxHfR

— MLB (@MLB) July 7, 2024

Other Players on the IL to Consider for Fantasy

OF Starling Marte, New York Mets

Starling Marte has been a shell of himself this season and may not have a starting position when he returns. But like many other players mentioned, Marte still has a high ceiling and is set to return any day now.

SS Bo Bichette, Toronto Blue Jays

Bo Bichette has been dealing with a calf injury since mid-July.
