The All-Star Future Games encompasses the league&#8217;s top prospects nearing the big leagues.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>Yankees Prospect Makes 2024 MLB Futures Games<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Through multiple wholesome draft classes, the MLB has seen a fair share of <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/baseball\/2024\/06\/19\/yankees-ben-rice-prospect-mlb\/\" target=\"_self\">fastrack prospects<\/a>. These prospects have either made the big leagues and are putting up performances or knocking on the door for a call-up.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Wyatt Langford was the Texas Rangers&#8217; top draft pick in 2023, fourth overall. He now plays on the big club and is batting .261 with 59 hits, four home runs, and 35 RBIs. Last year\u2019s first overall pick, Paul Skenes, was an early call-up. The righty has a perfect 4-0 record with a 2.06 ERA for the Pirates.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Needless to say, the prospects of the present are truly intriguing to watch and track. The Yankees&#8217; new All-Star Futures Games addition will be one to keep an eye on in the Bronx.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Yankees All-Star Future Games Prospect Spencer Jones Has Climbed The Ranks Quickly\u00a0<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The Yankees seem to have a belly-full outfield and don\u2019t need to add any more pieces to the active roster. However, when the rosters <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/baseball\/2024\/06\/14\/which-yankees-prospects-trade\/\" target=\"_self\">expand in September<\/a>, a call-up for Jones wouldn\u2019t be a surprise.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Spencer Jones is headed for the All-Star Futures Game | MLB Central\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/BXOR1FSOex8?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Jones elevated quickly, just a year after being drafted. In 2022, he jumped from high A to AA. He remained in AA-Somerset and currently plays there. AA is arguably the more competitive division based on talent and development.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">His development in AA will ultimately prepare him for a possible call to the show. Ideally, Jones would likely see a major league field in 2025.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Spencer Jones\u2019 Performance Update<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Jones is learning to handle the pace of professional baseball and rises in the system. He is facing arms that have more weight in his arsenal. So far in AA-Somerset, he\u2019s hitting a .252 with a .332 on-base percentage and a .420 slugging percentage.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He\u2019s recorded 45 RBIs, nine home runs, 66 hits, and an impressive 18 stolen bags. His tools show out with speed and power. The outfielder&#8217;s speed on the base pads is relevant in scoring runs, as he\u2019s done 43 times this year. His speed also translates in the outfield, making him a projectable long-term center fielder.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Jones\u2019 issue right now is his strikeout percentage. His long swing from the left side doesn\u2019t show much of a two-strike approach, which results in fanning his way out of the at-bat. He\u2019s struck out 107 times, only walking 30 times.
