In the 123-year history of the ballclub, no Boston hitter has achieved the slugger&#8217;s recent feat.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h2>Red Sox Slugger Makes Team History<\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In the fourth inning of Boston\u2019s 5-0 win over the Rays, Devers smoked a ball to left field for a home run. It was his sixth consecutive game with a bomb, a club record. Devers saw just two pitches in his second plate appearance. His blast went 382 feet, putting the Red Sox up 3-0. Devers had just four homers in his first 31 games of the season. It\u2019s a rare feat in all of baseball. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mlb.com\/news\/consecutive-home-run-games-c265322182\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The MLB record for most consecutive games with a bomb<\/a> is eight, which was set by three different players: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.baseball-reference.com\/players\/l\/longda02.shtml\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Dale Long<\/a> (1956), <a href=\"https:\/\/www.baseball-reference.com\/players\/m\/mattido01.shtml\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Don Mattingly<\/a> (1987), and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.baseball-reference.com\/players\/g\/griffke02.shtml\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Ken Griffey Jr.<\/a> (1993).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Just six players historically have hit one in seven straight contests.
