He is the Marlins #1 prospect and their only prospect to make the MLB\u2019s top 100 list (no.50). His triumphs come at a perfect time, as the Marlins will soon need him up in the majors. They currently have four members of their rotation out due to injuries. Their aces, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.baseball-reference.com\/players\/a\/alcansa01.shtml?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=lastwordonsports.com&amp;utm_campaign=2024-05-06_br\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Sandy Alc\u00e1ntara<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.baseball-reference.com\/search\/search.fcgi?pid=perezeu01,perezeu02&amp;search=Eury+P\u00e9rez&amp;utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=lastwordonsports.com&amp;utm_campaign=2024-05-06_br\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Eury P\u00e9rez<\/a> are both <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/baseball\/2023\/10\/06\/sandy-alcantara-tommy-john-surgery\/\" target=\"_self\">out for the season<\/a> with Tommy John surgery. Adding to this list are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.baseball-reference.com\/players\/g\/garrebr01.shtml?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=lastwordonsports.com&amp;utm_campaign=2024-05-06_br\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Braxton Garrett<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.baseball-reference.com\/players\/l\/luzarje01.shtml?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=lastwordonsports.com&amp;utm_campaign=2024-05-06_br\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Jes\u00fas Luzardo<\/a>.\u00a0 They both have <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/baseball\/2024\/04\/26\/jesus-luzardo-elbow-injury-marlins\/\" target=\"_self\">injuries<\/a> that could see them returning by June or earlier. The Fish could need a young arm for the rotation, and Meyers&#8217; seems to be a perfect fit.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><b>Marlins Prospect Noble Meyer Shines in Recent Start<\/b><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Noble Meyer, has yet to step foot on a big league mound but his success in the minors shows it&#8217;s only a matter of time before he gets called up. The 19-year-old is currently playing in Single-A with the Jupiter Hammerheads. MLB\u2019s Alyssa Gomez reports that in his last three starts, Meyers had described having problems with walks but was able to make up for it in his most recent start.<\/span><\/p>\n<blockquote><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cI&#8217;ve been kind of struggling with walks in my recent outings and before I got drafted, that was never an issue,\u201d Meyer said. \u201cI kind of just had to remind myself like, &#8216;I&#8217;m not someone who walks a lot of people. I&#8217;m someone who competes and I kind of play with a chip on my shoulder.&#8217; And I told myself I&#8217;m gonna strike everybody out and just brought that mentality on the mound and it just went as well as it possibly could.\u201d<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Meyer dominated his last outing on Saturday against the St. Lucie Mets. He went five innings with no earned runs, nine strikeouts, and two walks. Jupiter would go on to win 4-0. This comes days after he finished the month of April with 13 walks. This was six walks shy of the amount he had in his entire high school career. He was able to make changes and keep his walk count under control.
