Now, the 27-year-old right-hander is <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/baseball\/2024\/04\/22\/orioles-kyle-bradish-injury-return\/\" target=\"_self\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">set to return to Baltimore<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> after tossing five innings in his third rehab start Friday.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Earlier this week, Orioles manager <a href=\"https:\/\/www.baseball-reference.com\/players\/h\/hydebr99.shtml?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=lastwordonsports.com&amp;utm_campaign=2024-04-28_br\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Brandon Hyde<\/a> said he wanted Bradish to reach two milestones before being recalled\u2014five innings and 80 pitches. Well, Bradish came close to clearing the second milestone on Friday, throwing 77 pitches, 49 of which were for strikes. Hyde announced on Saturday that Bradish\u2019s next start will come for Baltimore.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201cHe threw the ball really well last night, and our medical team talked to him this morning &#8212; our pitching guys as well &#8212; and he feels great,\u201d Hyde said. \u201cWe\u2019re just looking right now when to slot him in, but he\u2019s going to be with us soon.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Kyle Bradish&#8217;s night is over and exits as the pitcher of record. He then moved up to Triple-A, giving up four runs over 3 \u2153 innings, throwing 64 pitches on April 21st. His workload steadily increased and after five innings of one-run baseball on Friday, Baltimore decided Bradish was ready to return.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Kyle Bradish finished fourth in AL Cy Young voting last season, pitching to a 2.83 ERA over 30 starts. He was expected to form a powerful one-two punch with <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/baseball\/2024\/02\/01\/corbin-burnes-traded-orioles\/\" target=\"_self\">Corbin Burnes atop the Orioles rotation<\/a>, before spraining his UCL.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Baltimore\u2019s pitching staff is getting closer to full strength. Left-hander <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.baseball-reference.com\/players\/m\/meansjo01.shtml?utm_medium=linker&amp;utm_source=lastwordonsports.com&amp;utm_campaign=2024-04-28_br\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">John Means<\/a><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> is scheduled to make his sixth and likely final rehab start with Triple-A Norfolk on Sunday.
