With the 2023 season about to close for the New York Mets, the team is gearing up for what is sure to be one of the most critical offseason in team history\u2014following a disappointing campaign that has seen the team go from World Series aspirations to just trying to avoid last place in the National League East. The Mets sold off at the deadline and dealt away future Hall of Famers\u00a0<\/span>Max Scherzer<\/span><\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<\/span>Justin Verlander<\/span><\/a>\u00a0for numerous prospects. Before the Mets can look to improve the team on the field, they first have to find the man for the job. On Tuesday, the Mets hope they got their guy, and it’s someone they’ve tried so desperately to get in the past.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Mets In Agreement With David Stearns<\/span><\/h2>\r\n

Per SNY’s Andy Martino and ESPN’s Jeff Passan, New York was finally able to hire David Stearns as their President of Baseball Operations. From 2015-2023, Stearns had previously worked in the\u00a0<\/span>Milwaukee Brewers<\/span><\/a>\u00a0front office as a General Manager, President of Baseball Operations, and advisor to owner Mark Attanasio.<\/span><\/p>\r\n
