Schneider should not be mistaken for his small size because his offense is far from short. As a rookie, he’s come up with some memorable hits for the Jays this season that have left fans wondering why he’s been sitting on the bench. It would be unfair not to utilize his offense when Toronto’s lackluster offense has been frustrating.<\/p>\n

Schneider’s bat is without question significant to the Blue Jays lineup. In 32 at-bats this season, he has recorded a .406 AVG, a 1.344 OPS, and four home runs. It’s not every day that rookies are putting up numbers comparable to the greats in team history. Schneider has earned himself the role of playing more as he has been one of the Jays most consistent hitters.<\/p>\n

Clearly, there is more to Schneider than meets the eye. Continuing to utilize his hot bat would be effective for Toronto’s success. Hitting is one of the aspects of baseball that can be infectious for other hitters. He is one of those players that has ignited the offense this season for the Jays. It’s no coincidence that when he is in the lineup, the offense plays better.<\/p>\n

He has been able to string together quality hits for the Jays and his hitting was definitely infectious in the game against the Cleveland Guardians<\/a> on Saturday, August 26. Schneider presented himself with a golden opportunity to score more runs with two men on base and nobody out in the seventh inning on Sunday afternoon. He came up with a clean RBI single to give the Blue Jays a 6-3 lead.<\/p>\n

The clock is ticking for the team, as the regular season has just over a month left. The Blue Jays are looking to bounce back into the Wild Card race, and the rookie could be the answer to their prayers. He knows how to crank a ball and has helped them come out big when needed. Back in June of this year, Schneider earned the\u00a0<\/span>Northwest League Player of the Week<\/span><\/a>\u00a0award while playing in the minor leagues. Schneider made the title by maintaining a surge in his offense, recording 16 hits in 10 games in June.<\/span><\/p>\n

So, his success in the majors doesn’t come as a total shock. With Schneider in the lineup, the Jays have a record of 7-2. It would be foolish not to have him in the lineup every day. If Schneider had been in the lineup against the\u00a0<\/span>Baltimore Orioles<\/span><\/a>, this would have helped <\/span>their<\/span><\/a>\u00a0offensive slump in that series.<\/span><\/p>\n

Schneider getting three hits, three RBIs, and giving the Jays a 3-run lead against the Guardians is just one game this season that has highlighted his strengths as a rookie hitter. Why\u00a0<\/span>John Schneider<\/span><\/a>\u00a0decided to bench him during their hitting drought is still a mystery. His offensive spark has been something many have been talking about this season. In addition, his hot streak when the Jays swept the\u00a0<\/span>Boston Red Sox<\/span><\/a> back at the beginning of August will never be forgotten. Schneider was able to help Toronto break a three-game losing streak and continue with his rookie star performance. If he hasn\u2019t worked his way into the starting lineup following his grand performance against the Guardians, I don\u2019t know what else he would have to do to get himself there.<\/span><\/p>\n
