Replacing them with promising prospects. Out are names such as Max Scherzer and Justin Verlander, two players who will be enshrined in Cooperstown one day. As well as closer David Robertson and slugger Tommy Pham. <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">In comes a plethora of young talent to restock a farm system that needed a serious reload. The players they acquired for the two said future Hall of Famers, Luisangel Acuna, and Drew Gilbert are headlining this talented group.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\r\n<h2><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">MLB Pipeline Ranks New Mets As Top Acquired Prospects<\/span><\/h2>\r\n<h3><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Acuna, Gilbert Are Ranked #1 And #2<\/span><\/h3>\r\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">New York and general manager Billy Eppler garnered praise for their <\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cbssports.com\/mlb\/news\/2023-mlb-trade-deadline-grades-marks-for-all-30-teams-as-angels-and-rangers-receive-an-a-yankees-fail\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">deadline activity<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">. <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">One such credit comes from Sam Dykstra of <\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mlb.com\/pipeline\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">MLB Pipeline<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">. Of every prospect traded at the deadline, he ranked the Mets acquisitions at <\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.mlb.com\/news\/ranking-the-prospects-traded-at-2023-deadline\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">#1 and #2 on his list<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">. As well as Marco Vargas, one of the two prospects the Mets acquired for Robertson, at #8. Four Mets prospects in the top-10.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n<h3>Prospects Already Making An Impact<\/h3>\r\n<p>Now the Mets have to sit and wait as the new talent develop under their system. The good news is some of them are already off to great starts. Showing why MLB Pipeline ranked them high after all of the movement at the deadline.
