In late May, the Colorado Rockies<\/a> called up 25-year-old outfielder Nolan Jones, a former second-round draft pick of the Cleveland Guardians in 2016, hoping, but not relying upon, him having a positive impact on the season and the future of the team.<\/span><\/p>\n

Now, through 41 games played, he has exceeded expectations in what has been a breakout 2023 season. Colorado got Jones in a November 2022 trade where they sent prospect Juan Brito to Cleveland.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Just 25 years old, Jones is youthful enough to still be in his prime when much of the Rockies farm system is entering their primes. This forces the question of how much of an impact he will have on the future of the team.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

While it relies heavily on how he plays through the end of the current season and develops further, there is still much to be excited for based on the current on-field production.<\/span><\/p>\n
