Pence found himself on the 10-day DL for a strained left hamstring on May 15, 2017. The San Francisco Giants kept him out of the lineup over the weekend. But his leg injury has not improved with three days off. As such, the Giants needed to open roster space to bring in someone who can take the field. The Giants did not retroactive the assignment to the DL. They opted to give their rightfielder a full 10-days rest to heal the niggling hamstring.<\/p>\n
Pence has slashed .243\/.289\/.338\/.627 through 37 games. Playing in right, he incurred\u00a0a fielding percentage of 1.000, accounting for 74 putouts and two outfield assists. He has not committed an error this season.
