The Philadelphia Phillies<\/a> lone All-Star is Nick Castellanos<\/a> who will be a reserve player for the NL. Castellanos currently has a team leading .316 batting average. In addition Castellanos has 12 HR which is second on the team behind Kyle Schwarber<\/a> and 54 RBI tied for the most on the team with Alec Bohm<\/a>. This will be the second time Castellanos has been named an All-Star. After Bryce Harper<\/a> advanced to the final round of voting for starters the team ends up with Castellanos as the one All-Star. Each team is guaranteed to have at least one player named to the All-Star roster.<\/p>\n

Harper has a .293 batting average with 3 HR and 22 RBI in 51 games this season. Furthermore Harper lost to J.D. Martin<\/a>ez<\/a> in fan voting to be the starting designated hitter for the NL. No other Phillies player advanced to the final round of fan voting. Additionally the starters are selected by the fans while the reserves are selected by players and coaches. According to the roster announcement Castellanos was voted into the All-Star Game by the players. The Phillies are one of the 16 teams currently slated to send one player to Seattle for the All-Star Game. That is subject to change depending on the need for injury replacements.<\/p>\n
