ARLINGTON, Texas, June 13 \u2014 The Texas Rangers<\/a> strutted away with a win on Monday evening, as they made a comeback to beat the Houston Astros<\/a> by a final score of 5\u20133. It was Adolis Garcia Bobblehead Night at Globe Life Field, and he contributed to the win with an RBI single, and a great catch in the outfield to rob Astros’ left fielder Yordan Alvarez of a home run in the top of the fifth inning. The next game in the series is set for Wednesday, with the first pitch scheduled for 7:05 PM Central. Right-hander Jose Urquidy (5\u20133, 5.04 ERA) will start for the Astros. Dane Dunning (1\u20134, 4.41 ERA) will get the ball for the Rangers.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The Astros got things started right away. In the top of the first inning, Yordan Alvarez singled on a line drive the other way to left field. This brought home Jose Altuve to put the score at 1\u20130 in favor of Houston. Their second run came in the top of the second inning on another RBI single. This one came off the bat of Astros’ center fielder Mauricio Dubon. The ground ball hit to center field drove in Jeremy Pena. The Astros’ third and final run of the evening would also come in the second inning.<\/p>\n After a tag play that was challenged by the Astros was upheld, it was determined that the run that had scored a moment earlier would remain on the board. That run came about on a single that was lined to right field by Michael Brantley. The base hit allowed Dubon to score. Brantley tried to advance to second base, but he was thrown out by Rangers’ right fielder Adolis Garcia.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The Rangers’ offense started off sluggish, but it picked up momentum as the game went on. They scored their first run on a sacrifice fly by Kole Calhoun. Leody Taveras scored on the play. Another four innings would go in the books before the Rangers got another run against the Astros. In the bottom of the seventh, Garcia singled on a ground ball to center field. That base hit drove in Brad Miller.<\/p>\n The Rangers tied the game 3\u20133 in the bottom of the eighth inning. It came on an RBI single by Ezequiel Duran. Charlie Culberson, who came in as a pinch runner earlier in the inning, scored on the play. They made it 4\u20133 later in the inning. A single by Miller drove in Duran. They would soon make it 5\u20133 on a ground out by Corey Seager. This allowed Miller to score, thus completing the comeback win for the Rangers.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Lefty Taylor Hearn got the start for Texas on Monday. He pitched 5 1\/3 innings. Hearn gave up three runs, all earned, on seven hits. He walked three, and struck out three. One of the bright spots for the Rangers’ pitching staff on Monday was that they didn’t give up any home runs to this powerful Astros lineup. Brock Burke got the winning decision for the Rangers. He pitched two innings, and had one strikeout. His record for 2022 is now 4\u20131, with an ERA of 0.83. Matt Moore came in to pitch the ninth inning, and earned his first save of the 2022 season.<\/p>\n Right-hander Hector Neris took the loss for the Astros. He pitched one third of an inning.
