ARLINGTON, Texas, Apr 26 \u2014 The momentum from the Texas Rangers<\/a>‘ win on Monday over the Houston Astros<\/a> was short-lived. Fans didn’t go home happy as the Astros won the second game in this four-game set by a final score of 5\u20131. The Rangers just did not show many signs of life on this warm evening in Arlington. They’ll have another chance on Wednesday evening. Right-hander Cristian Javier (0\u20130, 0.00 ERA) will start for Houston. The Rangers will be countering with a righty of their own. That would be Glenn Otto (1\u20130, 1.80 ERA). First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 PM Central.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n Lefty Taylor Hearn got the start on Monday for the Rangers. He pitched five innings, and he looked a little shaky. He gave up four runs, all of which were earned, on five hits. Hearn also walked one, and struck out four. He also gave up one home run. The Rangers also used Albert Abreu, Brock Burke, and Dennis Santana out of the bullpen.<\/p>\n Abreu came on in the sixth inning, and gave up one earned run. He didn’t give up a hit, but he walked three. Abreu also struck out one. Burke threw one inning, and only gave up one hit. He also had one strikeout. Santana went one inning, and had one strikeout as well.<\/p>\n The winning pitcher for the Astros in this one was Jake Odorizzi (1\u20132, 6.00 ERA). Odorizzi threw six innings. He gave up one earned run on one hit. He walked one, struck out four, and gave up one home run. The losing pitcher for the Rangers was Taylor Hearn (0\u20132, 7.47 ERA). There was no save.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The Astros got on the board first. Yordan Alvarez<\/a> scored on an RBI single by Jeremy Pena in the top of the second inning. Luckily, the Rangers were able to answer back quickly. Adolis Garcia hit a solo home run in the bottom of the second inning. This tied the score 1\u20131. Things would stay tied until the top of the fourth inning. The Astros took a 2\u20131 lead on an overturned call involving Yuli Gurriel. Furthermore, the overturned call was a ground out that was turned into a hit and an RBI for Gurriel.<\/p>\n Kyle Tucker quickly made it 4\u20131 Astros. He did this on a two-run home run to right field. Houston scored their fifth run in the top of the sixth inning. Alex Bregman scored on a fielder’s choice. It was fielded by Rangers first baseman Nathaniel Lowe.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n In baseball, the silver lining to any loss is that there is always tomorrow. That’s the mentality that the Texas Rangers need to have right now. That has to be manager Chris Woodward<\/a>‘s message after Tuesday’s game. There are still two more games in this series. The Rangers have plenty of opportunities to get the best of Houston. Not just in this particular series, but also over the rest of the season.<\/p>\n After this series, the Rangers have a three-game series against the defending World Champion Atlanta Braves<\/a>. Then they’ll embark on a five-game road trip. They will play two against the Philadelphia Phillies<\/a> at Citizen’s Bank Park. That series starts on Tuesday, May 3rd.
