ARLINGTON, Texas, Apr 16 \u2014 The roof was open at Globe life Field on Saturday night. It was a very cool evening as the home crowd watched their Texas Rangers<\/a> lose their third game against the Los Angeles Angels<\/a>. Saturday evening presented a game in which the Rangers hoped to get back in the win column, but they had their struggles. The Angels, however, snuck away with the 7\u20132 victory. Sunday is the final contest in this set of four between these two squads. First pitch is scheduled for 1:35 PM Central. It will be a matchup of lefties. Jose Suarez will get the ball for the Angels, and Martin Perez will start for the Rangers.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n It’s always unfortunate when the Rangers would lose on a night where runs are hard to come by. They only managed to push two across the plate. Marcus Semien drove in their first run on a double in the bottom of the third inning. Andy Ibanez was the man that crossed the dish. Their second run came on a groundout by Corey Seager. This play brought in Semien. The Rangers’ bats were just not awake this evening. The wind could haven a factor, perhaps. Whatever the reason, manager Chris Woodward needs to do something to wake these guys up, both offensively and defensively. While it is true that this season is only eight games in, the Rangers cannot dig themselves into too deep of a hole too soon. The Rangers are hoping to end their struggles in their series finale against the Halos.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n The Angels continued to give the Rangers headaches on Saturday night. They got things started in the bottom of the third inning. Andrew Velazquez scored on a groundout from the bat of Shohei Ohtani. Ohtani was safe at first, but Tyler Wade, who had been on first, was called out a second. That put the Angels on the board 1\u20130. A sac fly from Anthony Rendon scored Ohtani, stretching their lead to 2\u20130. Angels’ catcher Max Stassi made it 3\u20130 with an RBI single.<\/p>\n The base hit by Stassi brought in Mike Trout. Stassi contributed again in the top of the seventh inning. He grounded out, but that play allowed Ohtani to score again. The score was now 4\u20130. Then in the eighth inning, it was Ohtani once again. Shohei ripped into a ball like Tiny Tim on a Christmas ham for a two-run home run. This moved it to 6\u20132. It was Ohtani’s third home run in the last 24 hours. They scored their final run in the top of the ninth inning. Taylor Ward hit a solo shot to center field, thus cementing their second straight win. The Rangers definitely struggled on Saturday. Luckily for them, it is a quick turnaround with the afternoon start on Easter Sunday.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Rangers’ lefty Taylor Hearn started this one. This was a bullpen game for the Rangers. Hearn pitched three and two third innings. He gave up three runs, all earned on six hits. He walked won, struck out four, and he took the loss. His record is now 0\u20131 on the season. Noah Syndergaard got the win for the Angels. He is now 2\u20130 on the year. Syndergaard pitched six innings. He gave up both of the Rangers’ runs on five hits. He struck out four, and didn’t walk anyone. Right-hander Archie Bradley got the hold for the Angels. It was his first of the year.
