According to Jon Heyman, the former Rookie of the Year has signed with the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/baseball\/2022\/02\/22\/colorado-rockies-all-time-team-tournament\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_self\">Colorado Rockies<\/a> on a seven-year, $181 million deal.<\/span><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The\u00a0<\/span>Rockies make quite the surprising move as they now have a standout player on their rebuilding roster.<span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> The 6&#8217;5&#8243; 230 lb third baseman will bring a ton of experience to the Rockies. The 30-year-old outfielder won a World Series in 2016 as a member of the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/baseball\/category\/cubs\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_self\">Chicago Cubs<\/a> and played for the <a href=\"https:\/\/lastwordonsports.com\/baseball\/category\/cubs\/\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_self\">San Francisco Giants<\/a> in 2021. He also has many awards already to his name, including winning the 2015 NL Rookie of the Year, 2016 NL MVP, 2016 NL Hank Aaron Award, and has been an All-Star 4 times.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">In 2021, Bryant batted .262 had 49 hits and seven home runs in 51 games played after being traded to the Giants at the deadline. He was an asset to the Giants lineup in a year that saw them be one of the best teams in the league.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Bryant is a consistently solid player in the lineup. His versatility has seen him in the outfield as well as the infield. He can hit for power and make contact with pitches all over the plate. His WAR consistently being <\/span><a class=\"editor-rtfLink\" href=\"https:\/\/www.fangraphs.com\/players\/kris-bryant\/15429\/stats?position=3B\/OF\" target=\"_blank\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">over 2.0<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0throughout his career demonstrates his important presence of being in the lineup to help his team win. Overall, the Bryant sign is a solid pickup. As well, Bryant seems to build fan connections anywhere he goes.
